She's a Firecracker Alright!!!

Welcome to July's Bombshell blog hop!  This months theme is awesome and I love it!  Here is what Kas, our lovely Bombshell blog hop captain, has to say about this months theme:

There is a lot of room for wiggle with the monthly hops!!

OK then, that said...She's a Firecracker Alright!

I would love to see something along the lines of:

1) Red - White - Blue

2) Firecrackers (Bombshells)

3) Military

4) or sparkling like a firework!

Right away I knew what I wanted to do.  Recently the US Navy changed their working uniforms to a blue camo.  I am not quite sure how I feel about the color but I know for sure I LOVE seeing my man in uniform!!!!!!!!  mmmmmmm  Oh yeah back to you! LOL  I knew I wanted to take my Bombshell Butterfly Queen and make her wear the blue camo of the USN!  She makes it Sexy!!!  Paired with her red shoes and stars that outfit is HOTT!!!!

Let me know what you think then head on over to these lovely Bombshell hop participants and let them know what you think of their creations.

Bombshells July Challenge: Photo-Synthesis and Sketch challenge

I would like to welcome, a lot late I know, Ms July Alison!  Ok so maybe not welcome but say woooooooooo hoooooooooo  I freakin love you lady!!!!!!   You are awesome and I love your work!!!

Ok then, This month Ms. Alison has issued a challenge over on the Bombshell Forum called Photo-Synthesis.  Here is some info she gave us!:
Time to have fun with photos! There are three ways to play along with this challenge!

For the Scrapbookers: Make a layout featuring a photo(s) that have a pin-up feel to it. Maybe it's a picture of you and your car. Or your daughter wearing some vintage clothes. Or your niece in a pin-up style pose. Of course, you'll want to use some of your fabulous Bombshell Stamps on the page!

For the Card Makers: Make a photo card! Using a photo with a vintage feel, make a card that includes your Bombshell Stamps! Some examples include: a super cool Anniversary card for your other half featuring a haute pin-up style pic of you. Maybe a sweet shot of a hot rod for that car lover in your life.

For the Altered Artist: Make a fabulous creation using photos, altered art and your Bombshell Stamps! You can make a shadowbox with car memorablia and a Bombshell or two. You could decorate a frame covered with Bombshells that's housing a vintage photo.

Now I am also using this for Ms. Kathi's (Bombshell DT captain) July Sketch challenge!!!  She always makes the most awesome sketches!!!!  LOVE HER!

Now as you all know I am so not a scrapbooker but I actually took the plunge and made a page for this challenge.  Well sorta.  Every year my family has a reunion on or around the 4th of July.  My dad is the oldest of 12 with 11 still living and they have a big celebration every year!  While growing up I went every year but since getting married, having kids, and traveling all over with the military I have only been able to make it to a couple in the last 16 years. :(( Sad I know.  Hopefully now that the hubby is retiring we will be able to make it more often!  During this reunion we get all the brothers and sisters who are there to take a picture together.  Some years we have them all some we don't.  So I have decided to gather all the pictures that I can from the very first documented reunion until I can no longer gather pictures in the future and make a book of sorts.  The picture I used for this one is from 2009 and no I wasn't there but I did recently receive the picture in an email!  Fortunatly this one the first year in a long time that the remaining 11 were all there!  So it's the one I started with!  Now I just have to wait on the others! This year 2010, my children and I went to the reunion, and all 11 were there this time too!!! I was so excited, and wouldn't you know it the camera batter was dead from traveling and I didn't have the charger down there!!!!

Now I know that you can't read the writing( at least I don't think you can) but it just lists the names and says how it was the first time in a while that they were all together!

Page Deets:  Cardstock SU bravo burgandy, not quite navy, and vanilla.  Copics # 100, B23,B32,B39,E33,E37,E51,R29,R59,YR20,YG67. Images from Bombshell stamps, digi image for newsletter subscribers, Bombshell Angel

Wearable Art

Every month over at Smeared and Smudged we have a guest DT member.  This month's member is Lisa Fuller!  Lisa is hosting her very own guest challenge this month!  We were to create something wearable this month, and let me tell you there are some pretty awesome things going on with this challenge.  You should go check it out!!!  For this challenge I created a pair of shoes!!!  They are for my daughter but believe me if they had my size when I went to get them they would be for me!!!  I can guarantee you that I will have some soon!!!  I think they turned out great and my daughter has asked me since they were done when she could wear them.  I had to hold her off until I got pictures, but now that those are taken she can wear them whenever she wants to!!!  She wanted bright colors which is weird for my daughter but she got what she wanted!
Project deets: Images are from the Jacks stamp set from Smeared Ink, shoes are Joe Boxer, stamped with Staz on Jet black, and colored with Sharpie Paint Pens.

Take Me Out!

Here is my take on the Smeared and Smudged Rock-n-Rolla challenge and sketch challenge!  I love this video challenge, it's a freaking awesome song and video.  So much to get inspired from.  I took inspiration from the colors used and ran with it.  While watching the video I saw mostly blacks, grays, and whites, but the color that kept popping into my vision was red.  Totally love those colors.

Card deets: cardstock all SU black, basic fray, whisper white, Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Fired Brick Red, Bits&Baubles: washers, Tim Holtz clock parts, Image from Inkadinkado!!

If you are looking for a place where you can share your Alternative, Vintage, and Gothic Art Rubber Stamping then you need to join us over on Smeared and Smudged.  We have so much fun over there!

Merry Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I know, you think I am crazy, first of all it's supposed to be Happy Halloween and second of all what the heck am I doing making holiday cards!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Well my lovelies, let me tell you this is for The Burtonesque Dolls challenge #12 The Nightmare before Christmas in July!  The jist of the challenge is to fuse Halloween and Christmas on one card!  You can't have a Christmas in July without making it Burtonesque style!!!!  I also made this card with Barb from Stamp it Crazy in mind as it is her birthday week and bolgaversary!!!!!!!!

My card was made with Stamp It Crazy images (freaking love them), SU cardstock black, doublesided PP from My Minds Eye part of their "Halloween Night" series, and colored with copics:# YG11, G05, YR04, YR07, BV08, and R29.  The sentiment is printed from the computer then covered with Tim Holtz distress ink Old Paper.  I love love love the way this card turned out!  My daughter says it is freaking awesome and wants me to make more so she can give them to friends for Halloween, so I guess that's a good thing!!!!!!

Let me know what you think!

Hello my lovelies, I hope you are enjoying our hop so far. Simply Betty is one of our fabulous sponsors for the month of July! The Smeared and Smudged DT even got to play with the awesome My Kids Emo World stamps! Betty herself challenged us to "Get Grungy with Simply Betty Stamps!" Betty is even hopping along with us! Isn't that awesome!!! I chose Christan for my project... Something about him just reminded me of my son, or at least what my son wants to be!  Anyway I stamped my wicked image and colored him with my copics.   Added some Basic Gray double sided PP(eerie series),  a printed out word,  and some hardware and slam bam thank you mam I ended up with a card!!!
