Fairy Post Card Tag

Hello Lovelies, today I have to share with you a wonderful postcard tag I made using well a post card tag from AlteredPages and several collage sheets from there as well.  The ribbon is some I had laying around.  I really don’t know the name of it sorry…  The Collage sheets I used are: Script Collage Backgrounds AP-1724, Winged Women AP-1056D, Scrabble tiles AP-1603.

What’s great about this tag is that on the back it’s a postcard!  I am using this particular tag in an art journal page all about letters!  It’s a prompt from Smeared and Smudged.  Their prompts are awesome and give lots of room for you to do what you want!

Bombshell Hop and SBS Release

Hello Lovelies, today is a busy day!  I have for you the Bombshell Hump day Hop and a Burtonesque SBS release!!!  How cool is that.  Let’s start with the hop shall we.!

The hump day hop this month is great as it was a very loose theme…Here is what the Hump day Hottie Alison had to say about it!  This month, our theme is Celebrations of May. May has a lot of fun, interesting and sometimes bizarre holidays. So the challenge was to pick one of these holidays, and make a project out of it! We have a fabulous list of stops for you to hop to this month, so let's get this party started!
So I chose National Photograph month.  The hubby was taking a photograph class to finish his degree and of course I had to learn with him…it’s my camera after all!!! So here we are learning all sorts of new camera lingo and taking all these new pictures in different ways, which I will be posting later, and which picture did I pick to work with today… the one where my daughter is making a funny face!!!  LOL  I just knew when I saw it though that it would make a great journal page with her as the center of the flower…. it will be a two page spread with my son on the other page but right now it’s half done!

Here is the journal page… I used 1 image from 23 different Bombshell stamp sets on this page.   A lot of them are the petals of the flower and some are hard to see in the picture because of the inks I used for the background but they are all there!!!

Here is a little close up of some of the stamps.  Sorry about the Glare!!!

Told you she was being silly!!!

Here is the hop list and if you started here please head over to the Bombshell blog to start at the beginning!

SBS Burtonesque Dolls Release

Today we have a release for you called the zombabes.  These are all hottie zombies who are ready for the beach!  I guess I was continuing with the photograph month theme are a couple of these are scrapbook pages.  Remember we are having a two day release so that means 3 today and 3 tomorrow so make sure to come back to see the rest of the hotties!!!
Today we have for you…
Luscious Lucy, Martini Tina, and Snappy Ginger.
I will start with Martini Tina:

Now I have to tell you, I printed the images out and colored them but all of the projects were done digitally.  I recently acquired this new digi kit all about summer and I knew as soon as I saw it I had to use it for the Zombabes!!  So all of my projects for the next two days will have a sort of retro/summer look to them!

Now for Snappy Ginger and Luscious Lucy they are together on a scrapbook page I made for my daughters book!  Seems I have a daughter theme today and tomorrow but don’t worry I have plenty of the boy too…His were just not for these papers!!!

I hope you enjoy and remember to go to the Burtonesque Dolls blog to see what the others have made!

Recipe Re-Do

Hello Lovelies, today I am here with the beginnings of a recipe box re-do.  I started this box for my daughter a while ago and recently decided to re-do the outside.  It started out as a box decked out in things you would find in Paris because that is one of her fascinations.  The further along I got into the box the more I realized that the theme might not go with her kitchen as she gets older so I thought…. well everyone loves vintage, and if they don’t they should!  LOL..Anyway I started redecorating the outside of the box with collage sheets from AlteredPages, From the Kitchen with Love AP775D and Cookbook covers AP907D to be exact.  So far I am loving the look of it and want one for myself!

A close up of some of the images I am using from these two collage sheets.

See the Paris theme I am covering…while it looked awesome I just don’t think it would last like the vintage styles would…I could be wrong but I like the new look!
Don’t forget to head over to AlteredPages to check out the kits over there!!!

May Pin Up challenge: Tic TacToe

Hello Lovelies it’s time for the May Pin Up challenge over at Bombshell Stamps!  Here is what our Pin Up had to say:
IT'S TIME FOR TIC TAC TOE: Pick any three in a row
Your challenge for the merry month of May is to create a project that contains
three items from my Tic Tac Toe selection.Just draw an imaginary line through three boxes. Horizontally, vertically, or cheating  .

"Something new" is kind of a wild card. Interpret it how you wish but try something you've never done before. You may well discover a new favorite technique. You won't know until you try ;)

Now go forth Bombshells and create your projects. Do please come back and share your work with all your fellow Bombshell lovers.Tell your friends and fellow crafters too. Lend a stamp and let a friend enter. If they win, maybe they will share the Booty!!!Looking forward to seeing all your amazing entries.
Jennie xxx

Now really all you have to do is pick 3 in a Row and go for it!!!  I chose to go straight down the middle.

Now the Purple is obviously the letters, the paper piecing is the skulls which were stamped on patterned paper then cut out to make my flowers, and the something new is the whole thing, the journal, the concept of the journal, and the paper the skulls were stamped on!!!  So head over to the Bombshell Blog to see what the other DT have made for you and don’t forget to enter in our monthly challenge!!!

You know you want to with that badge!!! Smile

Now you all know how much I love pintrest and you know I am always looking for a way to recycle something cause you know how much I hate to throw anything away!  So I have been saving cans, you know the ones that tomatoes come in, anyway I don’t use them very often but when I do I make sure to save them.

I took some glitz paper and covered the cans… On a couple of them I took the scraps of paper and made my own patterned paper.  I used images from collage sheets I got from and added those to the paper.  I have my colored pencils stored in these by color group but am saving more cans to make a marker pyramid!

This is one of my patterned paper pieces

Another of the pieced together patterned paper
This one needs a ribbon at the top but I can't find one I like right now.....

Ok on to the Challenge: Here is what the lovelies over at PCI have to say…
Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to Challenge #24 "In The Garden"! Since Spring has finally come, we decided that most everyone will be working in their gardens and yards, so that would be an awesome challenge! What do you think? Just a quick reminder, you are only limited by your imagination! You can use any image for this challenge! We would LOVE to see all types of creations, whether it is a Card, Scrapbook Page, Fat Book Page, Tag, ATC (Artist Trading Card), Box, Bag, 3D ~ Altered Art, or Other Crafting Projects that has some form of paper on it!
All of our Design Team's inspiration is listed above, along with Inlinkz. This challenge will run until Sunday May 20, 2012 at 6pm CST. And for an added bonus, we will be looking for some works of art to Spotlight!

Our Sponsor for this challenge is our very own Miranda van den Bosch, she is so talented that she drew 3 Images just for us and these 3 Images will be the prize for this challenge! Isn't that an awesome prize for one lucky person? We hope that you like our creations!
Now here is a some information about Miranda!
My name is Miranda van den Bosch and I’m 47 years old. I have been drawing nearly all my life. At the age of 4 I was making drawings on a blackboard, but because my parents thought it was a pity that I had to erase all my drawings they got me paper and colour pencils. And I’ve never stopped drawing since. When I was little I used to draw portraits and Disney characters. After that I started to draw fairies and dragons. In time, I joined an art group and learned to draw nudes and still life portraits too. When I was in my 30ties I became interested in birds and started to draw them as well. And last year I published my first children’s book. It’s an ABC of birds and 26 birds tell you about birdlife in general. A good friend of mine wrote the text. About 2 years ago, I discovered card making and how I could use stamps with my colouring technique and style. I really enjoy colouring up all the cute images with watercolour or with regular colour pencils. Every week I discover new brands of stamps and I just decided to draw some digi stamps to see if other people liked them. A new world of being creative is opening up for me.

I was able to use two wonderful images from Miranda I love the bright springy colors I used as opposed to my normal dark colors.  Let me know what you think and remember to head over to PCI to enter for your chance to win so wonderful images from Miranda as well!
Here are my cards, let me know what you think!
