Hello everyone, welcome to the last day of the 3 day hop! This month Smeared and Smudged decided to do a 3 day hop instead of just the regular monthly hop! Again I will keep it short and sweet. I used the Inky Dreams stamp set from Smeared Ink on this one as well. That set is awesome for journaling/mixed media because it can create some wicked sweet backgrounds!

Yummy Goodness

Hello Lovelies, if your looking for the Smeared and Smudged blog hop it’s the next post down. This post is all about some yummy goodness I made this morning!

I got the idea from Ms. Nicole Maki when she posted her eggnog doughnuts a while ago. Well I didn't have any eggnog and I can't really have high carb or fat doughnuts, not that hers are I just need something different right now so I came up with these.

Applesauce Doughnuts:

Makes 12 Doughnuts:

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 cup AP white flour

1/2 cup splenda

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. vanilla

3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

Preheat oven to 375*. Sift dry ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl. Add in the wet ingredients and mix until blended. Fill each cup of a doughnut pan up 2/3 of the way. Bake for 15 min. or until they bounce back when you press on them. Cool in pan for a couple minutes and then cool completely on a wire wrack.

Serving size 1 doughnut: Nutrition facts per serving: 77 calories, less than 1 gram of fat(1/3 of a gram actually), 14.75 carbs.

I did not make a glaze for these as I didn’t really want one this morning, but I am trying to figure out a dipping sauce or two to go with them that will not add to much sugar and carbs!

I Miss You!

Hello Lovelies, I have recently started art journaling to help myself through some really wicked times. Today is the 17th anniversary of my Mothers death and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss her something crazy! So today I put my feelings on paper and wanted to share some of it with you!

My goal is not to make you sad but for you to know that I have not crawled under a rock and hidden from the world! Although sometimes I feel like it! This is my way of coping and I hope that you understand I need to share some things. Not everything but some things.

So on to my page…I don’t usually share the journaling part of any of my pages as I think journaling is a private thing. I needed to share this today because I know there are others out there who feel the same. My cousin who recently lost her baby, a friend who recently lost her father, another friend who lost her father years ago, anyone who has lost, our hurts may not be the same but we all hurt and we all need to know that we are not alone! That there is someone who will listen and not judge and who will let you yell and cry and rant just because you need to for no reason at all other than you saw their favorite bird that day or whatever your reason!

Now really on to the page…

Hello Lovelies, it's time for another Bombshell Sketch challenge! This months sketch was awesome as always!!! I always love Ms. kathi's sketches!! This one was very versitile! I made a black and white pocket card with a black and white ATC for the pocket. The image is from the Bombshell Angel set! Who says you need to make valentines red and pink. This one is going to one of my nephews and let me tell you he is a little devil and he makes me laugh! The non image sentiments are rub ons that I got from Stampin up eons ago... see what happens when you start organizing?! You find all kinds of stuff you didn't remember you had! LOL

You all know I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alice in wonderland so I was super stoked when I got this image and I bet you all know which set I will be getting first!!! LOL Anyway, I printed out my image and colored it with my copic markers. I kind of modeled it after the Alice game colors. I LOVE that game! Anyway, the patterned paper is by G45…Halloween in Wonderland! The saying is what the Hatter(Johnny Depp) says to Alice in the latest Alice Remake(2010)

Bombshell Tutorial and Forever Night Challenge!

Hello everyone welcome to this wonderful Friday! Today I have to share with you a Tea Box tutorial. One of my dearest friends is going through a rough time and she loves tea so I thought I would make this for her to cheer her up!

Bombshell Hop

I didn't forget!!! I promise!!! I was stupid and waited until yesterday to try something new and didn't like the way it turned out so rushed last night to do something else and it didn't turn out so I am back to the first project, I just have to finish coloring them or at least one to show and I will get it posted in a bit. Have to take the kids to school right now.... I am so so so sorry!!!!!

OK! I am back!!! Now I know I said I was stupid for waiting so late and you will just have to forgive me for that.... So I couldn't bring myself to make anything out of the disasters I have made so I am going to show them to you so that you know what NOT to do when you try them.

My first effort was salt dough. Now I have made pendants out of clay and toilet paper but I never thought to make my own dough. So I saw it on pintrest(go figure) It's simple really, 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, and cold water. Mix everything together until it is the consistency of play dough. once stamped bake at 250* for 2 hours! My son was home sick yesterday so we decided to play. We used almost a cup of water but it will vary depending on where you are and climate and everything. So here we are making this dough and all I have in the house is course sea salt. I thought that's OK, I will pull out my ninja and process it until it is smooth almost like powder.... so I did. WELLLLL I guess it was not quite as fine as I thought it was cause once we stamped them and cut them and colored some of them then baked them they turned out like this......

Although you can't see it very well there are huge hunks of salt showing.. Not at all like we wanted it to be....

These we colored the dough with food coloring then rolled them together for the Tye-dye effect. Still you can feel the salt in them but we used bombshell stamps anyway!!!

This one we stamped before we baked and now with it stained with distress stains you can see the chunks of salt still in them and quite honestly while they are fun to play with with my kids ( 16 and 13 and still like play dough :)) yeah I am an awesome mom!!! LOL ) I would never use them on a project so I quickly ok lets do something else....

SO I came down to the dungeon and grabbed some paint and a piece of 140lb watercolor paper and said I'll do acrylic transfer! ( Another project I saw on Pintrest). Pretty simple right? All you do is throw some paint on a paper or canvas and place a photocopy of an image on it and let it dry then rub it off with water right.... NOT SO FAST BULLSEYE!!!! First of all make sure you have ink in the printer... I didn't so I went to some stamped images I have... Not thinking that because they were on cardstock it would take longer for them to dry. YES I KNOW I HAVE THE IMAGES AND I COULD HAVE STAMPED THEM ON COPY PAPER BUT I PANICKED!!!! Don't judge me! LOL

So I throw some paint on the paper and then throw the images on them and wait.... and wait... and wait... well the instructions say you can dry them with a heat gun if you let them air dry for 15 mins first.....ummmmmm not in this case... best bet is to let them air dry until they are completely dry.... I'll just show you...

This is what happens when you let it air dry... As you can see I am not quite happy with it so I am turning this into a mixed media page.....Will post when it gets done but don't hold your breath cause it may be a while!

The orange is what happens when you don't let the paint dry enough and the yellow is what happens when you dry it with the heat gun..... it's alright but not nearly what I wanted... so thankfully it's on the same paper as the mermaid and will be part of the mixed media... you can see a little bit of the other elements already, the purple is a stamp I made with left over mounting foam and rubberbands and the other is plastic canvas mesh stuff....

Crochet Scarf

Hello Lovelies as I said yesterday, my blog will now be for the things of importance to me whether or not they have a stamp on them anywhere. You all know by now that I love pintrest and you can follow me by clicking on my sidebar. Anyway I have been going through my room/garage full of boxes of crafting supplies to organize and basically just see what I have out there! I found lots of partial skeins of yarn in a huge tub and immediately thought of a scarf I saw on pintrest. Now theirs(you can find it on dollarstorecrafts.com)was made from several different colors and types of yarns but I wanted to go a little simpler and make something that was totally me! So I chose only 2 colors. Now anyone can make this I am sure. As long as you know the chain stitch you can have as many of these as your hands can handle making. I used a size F crochet hook to make mine because I wanted it thinner. So all you do is grab your yarn and start making a chain, each of my chains is around 12 feet long because you are going to tie knots in is and you still want it to wrap two or three times around your neck. Let me know what you think!

Yeah Yeah I know I’m a little late, but what can I say! Hello everyone, I hope that you are all doing wonderful and are having a great year so far! I rang in the new year sick and am still not fully recovered!    This post may be a little long as there is lots to tell and some to show.

When I started this blog I thought, oh this is a wonderful way to stay in touch, get my little (read BIG) opinion out there and “meet” some like minded people. Well it soon turned into a only crafting blog which is wonderful don’t get me wrong, I am forever grateful for the wonderful stamp companies who have had or have me on their design teams and I would not give them up for anything, but I wanted to do more than stamping on my blog from the get go. Soooooo there will be some changes coming I hope.

Recently I found out some life altering news. Nothing extremely bad just something that will alter the way I live from now on. So with that news, a little depression, and some reflecting on life came and I have decided to do what I wanted to begin with. My blog will now become my way to document my day to day life… I am not saying I will post everyday but when I do it will not always be stamping.   Stamping will always be my first love and I am very very grateful to Terra for introducing me umpteen years ago!, but there are so many other things to do also that I want to try them all! I also want to share recipes, and photos that haven’t been scrapped, I guess basically I want to share myself. Now you may say why not start a new blog for all of that!   I DID and even I can’t remember to go and update it or check on it so I am certain that not very many others will!!! LOL

So stay with me and we will get this party started.

I don’t know about any of you, well except for Alison, but I am totally addicted to Pintrest! You can follow me if you want to ! There is a button on the sidebar!   I found this project the other day and thought well hell I have tons of those. Being from Louisiana a wreath made from Mardi Gras beads just seems logical, so what did I do, dug out my Mardi Gras box, yes I have one, and sorted through all my goodies and came up with this! The good news is I had enough purple, green, and gold beads to make it work, the gooder news is I have enough beads that are not purple, green, or gold to make another!!! Anyway I hope you enjoy my newly made wreath as much as I am! I will be back shortly!

Forever Night Challenge Blog is back with another freaky friday challenge for you!!! Today we are sponsored by Bugaboo stamps and I love these little skelly people! They are cute in a creepy sort of way! Today I made for you a scrapbook page. I know I know, pick your jaw up off the ground!!! Honestly people things can change!!! I think! LOL Anyway, this little cutie made me think of my kids when they were younger always trying to carry things that were to big for them, and some cute digi papers I recently got, so I thought, why not combine the two! I know she's carrying a present and that really has nothing to do with snow, except if your my kids, even now as teens, getting snow is like a gift so it worked. At least in my mind. Anyway there are no pictures added yet as we haven't had our first snow day this year :( but as soon as we do I am totally taking pictures, as always, and they will be added!!! I have joined an altered domino ornament swap for the past couple of years. The host of this years swap asked a favor from the swappers, she volunteers at a nursing home in her area, and she asked us to make a few extra so that she could decorate a tree for the people there! So here is one of the extra domino’s I altered!

Hello Lovelies, Welcome to another day of Christmas s&s style! I hope you have been enjoying yourselves these last 3 days! Isn’t there some wonderful artwork going on here!!! Hello Lovelies! Nope it’s not a 12 days post it is Freaky Friday on Forever night!!!! I know I haven’t posted the last couple of Fridays and I am totally sorry about that! It’s been stoopid buzy!!! Anyway this weeks challenge is Nightmare Before Christmas!

So I have these images from Simply Betty that are wicked sweet! So I had to use them, then I thought, well what am I going to do with them! So I started googling(is that a word, it is now!), and boy the inspiration you find in images! So I am going to show you my inspiration photos first and then my project.

I love that in this picture Sally is the only color in the whole thing! So that was my first idea! Then I thought well I need to find a cool looking moon to go in the background so this is what I found.

And this is what I came up with! I used this blue moon as my color spot and it was the only color in my project!

Hello Lovelies, today I have for you a wonderful StampInsanity challenge!!! This one is so very wicked sweet! I couldn’t wait to play!

I'm so proud of all the beautiful Groovy Gurlz and the beyond-words incredible work they've produced for your inspiration over the last two years. There are just no words. That makes the Big Announcement that much bigger –and more heartbreaking. This will mark the final StampInsanity Stamps Challenge. After a long, looong, decision process, I've decided it is what is best !there is not enough time in a day, and I am sure you can all relate on some level! I cannot thank you enough for your support, your awesome submissions that you've shared with us and the lovely comments and compliments you've showered over us. I think I speak for the Gurlz when I say your kind words mean everything! So form all of us, a big groovy Thank You. Surely you'll see each of us around the blogosphere individually, and we can't wait!
Phew! all that aside, we have a challenge for you this week! I LOVE this challenge ! do you know what a CASE is? That’s right, StampInsanity is coming to an end. That makes me very sad… Here is my creation for you. Now keep in mind that the CASEing on my part came from the idea of the card not necessarily the whole project! Although the colors are similar as well as some of the shapes used. Anyway, I get away with myself. Here is the original, I found it on Splitcoast Stampers it is called a Box Card!

Hello Lovelies, I know it's been a while, I am sorry about that! It's been crazy busy here. We decided we were going to go on a cruise for Christmas so we have been planning that plus my cousin is having her first baby, and we are doing a big baby shower this weekend since it's the first baby in a long time, so I have been making games and things for that!!! Just not very much time to post although I am trying to get better! Also I signed up for several swaps that have to be done before we leave, well a couple more quickly because they are going to australia! Hello Lovelies, Today I have for you a card I made for the SISC79! It’s called Chill Out and we want you to use your chilliest blues for this project! I used Henry and his Snowman for my card! I know I know Christmas or winter but you know it’s cold outside and I just felt the need!!! So here is my project:

As you can see I used several different shade of blue even on the snowman to make him shiny and also grey on the snow to make it dull! Of course it’s my favorite easel card! I’m trying to decide if I want to make more for Christmas or make something different for everyone… What do you think? Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge!

Hello Lovelies, Today I have for you a creation I made for the Beyond the Burtonesque Challenge Blog! Our challenge this week is Scary Kids. Yep that’s right, kids can be scary and we want to see your scary kids!!! I have this image and I can’t remember where it came from or when I got it! I am sorry to whom ever created her cause she is great and I wish I could give you credit for her! If anyone knows please let me know so I can credit the artist! Anyway she is just wicked sweet and the image itself is scary in a doll head cut off kinda way, but when you use two of her that’s just down right wrong, in a wicked sweet kinda way!!!

I used the movie, The Shining, for my inspiration for this project. Here is my inspiration photo…

They look like innocent little girls in this picture, but if you have ever seen the movie, you know they are anything but innocent!!! If you haven’t seen the movie please do! If you like scary movies and or Steven King you will love this movie!

WE MADE IT!!!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO I AM SO HAPPY ITS HERE!!!!

Today I have for you a big ol bunch of everything! I am participating in a 2012 CD Calendar swap and of course I chose to do the month of October! It’s for a group called Penny Wise Arts. We do lots of swaps over there. It’s a yahoo group so if you wanna check us out come on over! Anyway they have a store called of course PennyWiseArts.com they have a little of everything there but specialize in microbeads! So if your ever looking for microbeads or other things come on over and check them out!

Here is my October page for next year! I have used a StampInsanity image again I love them!

Now on to the pictures of my house decorations. It is bittersweet this year as we have moved to a new town and evidentially not everyone like Halloween here. I live in a huge community and my street has about 10 houses on it and we are the only house that has decorated! That’s sad to me! But Oh well we will make lemonade out of grapes and have the time of our year!!! LOL

Hello lovelies, can you believe it’s almost Halloween! I am so very excited!!! I can’t wait!!! As most of you know we moved to this new house in this new town in January of this year and I have had some not so very good times here. I am sad to say that on our street of 10 houses we are the only ones who have decorated for Halloween! I have no idea if we will have trick or treaters.. but we are having friends of the kids over so that will have to suffice! That being said, and actually having nothing to do with my project I just wanted you to know what a weird place I live in, we are moving on to my project for the day!

Several days ago I showed you a charm I made for one of those little branch trees…. I have a few more to show you today! I think I like this group better than the first one! What do you think?

All the images are from inkadinkado and all the charms have been colored with alcohol inks! Let’s see, there is a skull, a vampire, and two spider webs in this group! The tree will be revealed on the 31st!!!!

Now for most this is not hard, but although I like flowers and have started making them recently I don’t often just put them on a card!!! BUTTTTT I managed to do it just for you! LOL JK

Now for the Bombshell Tutorial!

As I hinted at yesterday today I am going to show you how to make the flowers I made for LB’s wreath. There are other tutorials out there but I found, once I started, that they were wasting to much paper to get the perfect flower. If you want that perfect flower then by all means, square off your paper and go from there. I personally think that if they look a little wonky then it looks a little more home/handmade instead of store bought! Just my personal opinion though!

OK:
Material needed:
Stamps of choice, I used the skeleton from the digital set skully doll!
ink/or image printed from the computer
copy paper
old books, or if you have trouble tearing up books, some sort of thin paper.
hot glue( lots and lots of hot glue!!! I went through a whole bag when making the wreath!)
scissors
lots of patience!!!

Now you didn’t think I was going to leave you with that did you??? No way not me! How about a box filled with candy to put them on? Now this box I made using my Martha Stewart score board, but that is a tutorial for another day!!! Wanna see the finished project?

Hello Lovelies, today I have to share with you some teeny tiny apothecary jars that I made to go along with the regular size ones I made last year! Most of them are labeled using some sticker labels I had laying around but a few are made with some inkadinkado stamps I got from the $ spot at the craft store!!! Love those stamps!

Ok here are a few I have done….

The Eye of newt is actually white glue with green reinker and gold micro beads! I haven’t decided what to do with the others yet! It’s tough! Any suggestions?

Hello lovelies, today I have for you another ATC I made using the $ spot inkadinkado stamps. This little ATC has a special surprise!

Isn’t that an awesome stamp?! I used distress inks to color him, well not really color but make it so that it wasn’t white! I used gathered twigs, and ripe persimmon. Two of the new distress inks. The patterned paper is also from echo park, I love that Apothecary Emporium collection! Anyway, the ribbon is from Michaels.

Hello Lovelies, can you believe it’s day 20 already!!! I can’t, it seems to be going by so quickly! I don’t want it to be Halloween to soon, I love October! Anyway, today I have for you a StampInsanity challenge! It’s a wicked one at that! We Groovy Gurlz challenge you to dress up a treat! That’s right, How do you dress up a treat?

I have these test tubes, got them last year on clearance, and wanted to use them this year. I think they will go great sitting on the bar in the family room. Not to mention that I am sneaking in portion control for the family too!!! Anyway, I found this cool little tutorial on splitcoast for a test tube holder… on the tutorial she shows how to do one but also has measurements for 2, 3, even 4! So I chose to do the 3 one! I think these are super cute and the tubes can be reused so I am pretty sure there will be portion controlled candy on the bar year round!!! These would be great for a party too!

Hello Lovelies, I have for you today a card I made for Day of the Dead and also for the Bombshell Pin Up challenge. This month our Pin Up challenged us to use pink in our cards in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month! Now using pink is no problem for me anymore, I used to have a hard time using it but not anymore. BUT using pink in 31 days!!! That made me stop in my tracks for a minute! Then I thought I’ll use the Alter Skulls set from Bombshell stamps! So that’s what I did… Now the layout of this card is a little different for me and I’ll be honest with you, I started this off with making an ATC in mind. Paying no attention to details in the beginning I neglected to realize that the Alter skull was bigger than an ATC!!! So card it is!!! I used vanilla cardstock and craft cardstock that was smeared and smudged(LOL) with distress inks! Gathered twigs, tattered rose, and seedless preserves. I wrinkled the original ATC size piece and then mounted it on other cardstock! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! Hello lovelies, today I have for you a creation I made using a Delicious Doodles image. It is also challenge 3 for Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls. Today’s challenge is awesome, although I have to admit it threw me for a loop when I first saw it because although I have enjoyed several pieces of his work I had no idea who was behind such wonder movies!

It's time for Challenge #3 and this week, we are looking at the work of another awesome Director and Producer;

Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro has a habit of creating wonderfully dark films, which contain great storylines, and wonderful imagery. Most famous for Pan's Labyrinth, he has Directed and Produced films as diverse as Hellboy, Blade II, and Kung Fu Panda 2.

Your challenge is to create a project inspired by any of Guillermo's work, it can take the form of a card, layout, digital picture, whatever takes your fancy.

I took inspiration from Hellboy. I love those movies. Now as I said before I used a delicious doodles image he is Devil May care. Here is my take on the challenge…I colored him with my prisma color pencils and the background is from a digi kit I got years ago and can’t remember who its from…sorry!

Hello lovelies, today I have for a some coasters I made back in the summer. I made these for a friend of mine, and actually mailed them off already, although I am quite sure she has not received them yet. If you don’t know who they are for when you see the images then you haven’t been around smeared and smudged very long! I took my stamp set to the local pottery place, where you can go and paint pottery, chose this set of coasters for her. I painted them a light grey and then stamped the images with black. I think they turned out wicked!!! What do you think?

I used Quoth the Raven stamp set from Smeared Ink. Now do you know who they are for!!! 10 Points to the correct guess!!

He is carving his little jack-o-lantern with not a care in the world. I paired him with some jack-o-lantern paper and some spider paper…
I colored him with my copics in mostly black but I love his little purple and green spot of hair!!! Totally wish I could pull that off, but alas I cannot!!! I'm going for purple instead!!! Distressed his cardstock a little and there you go!!!

Hello lovelies, today I have for you a double post in one. Not only is it Bombshell sketch challenge day over on the bombshell blog, but it is also the start of Forever Night Challenge blogs 3 day blog hop!!
First of all the Bombshell sketch….

This is the wonderful sketch Ms. Kathi made for us this month! Here is my take on the sketch…

The other day I was having a Pumpkin Spice Latte and I thought, I wonder what a Pumpkin Spice Martini would taste like! So that led to this card! I used the Man’s Ruin stamp set. Kraft cardstock and Halloween patterned paper from My Minds Eye called Haunted. It’s pretty all the paper in this pad is printed on kraft! I LOVE IT! Stickles on the glass cause every martini needs a sparkly glass!!! The background is kraft paper smeared with the new Limited edition distress inks from ranger! I LOVE THEM!!! I hand wrote the name of the drink cause it just needed it!!

Hello Lovelies, I hope this day finds you all doing spookingly well!!! I have for you today another Beyond The Burtonesque Dolls challenge! Today we challenge you to design your project around the works of Terry Gilliam. There are some awesome project over on the blog with all the challenge information so head over there for all the bits and baubles you need for this!!!
I based my card off of this movie poster!

This is one crazy movie, if you haven’t seen it I recommend it! Here is my project:

Now for my 31 days project. I made this wreath for a friend of mine. I sent it out to her so that she could use it this Halloween if she wanted to! I used the Build a Zombie set from Smeared Ink. I am showing you what the set looks like because unless you look really closely you can’t see where I stamped on the paper!

So what I did was stamp the top half of the page(no alphabet) onto regular printer paper. I then cut each of these in half and added two pages from old books. There are also flowers that just have pages from old books! I then rolled my arms off!!!LOL This wreath took 152 flowers to fill!!! I think it turned out wonderfully and hope my friend does too!!

Hello Lovelies, today I have for you more decorations for my house!!! I love black and white Halloween, Christmas, anything really but this is the first year I have actually gone with those decorations for some reason!! I love it! So here is another skull I have decorated…I painted the paper Mache’ skull white, then with this one I stamped a lot of images on white tissue paper and then very carefully mod podged it to the entire skull, making sure to get it in all the holes and curves! That is not as easy as it seems unless you have 4 hands….so call someone to come craft with you on this one!!

Yeah there are some rips in the paper but I think all in all it came out great!!! I love them anyway!!! Remember to go and see what everyone has made for you today!!! Blog roll on the sidebar!!!

Hello Lovelies, today I have for you decorations for my house!!! I love black and white Halloween, Christmas, anything really but this is the first year I have actually gone with those decorations for some reason!! I love it! So here is a skull I have decorated…I painted the paper Mache’ skull white then stamped with black ink on them…. on this one I stamped directly on the skull and also on white tissue paper and then used mod podge to adhere it to the skull.

Hello Lovelies, and welcome to another day of 31 days!!! It is also a Stamp Insanity challenge day! Today we have challenged you to make anything but a card! I found these cute little paint cans at AC Moore and I couldn’t pass them up! I covered it with some Apothecary Emporium Collection from Echo Park and one of their stickers on one side. Then I used the Hat from Cassandra a SIS image and one of the sentiments from Morgan’s spell set!

I think this would make cute candy holders!

Hello Lovelies, today I have for you a project I made for one of those little branch trees, you see everywhere during this time of the year. I used facets and alcohol ink . Then stamped the spider image onto the flat side of the facets. I made similar charms for a charm swap for ATT yahoo group. I am making more of these as you read this to decorate my tree! I will have pictures posted on the last day of my decorations!!

I also have my original card I made for the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls blog jump off!!! Today is the day the blog is live and we have an awesome challenge for you! Make a project depicting your favorite Halloween movie or book and tell us why! Give us the background story. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the movie Hocus Pocus… it’s not scary or gory but I freakin love it!

It was my jump off movie into my love of everything witchy!!! Not to mention awesome actors in the movie!!! Anyway, I know you have seen this card before but I wanted to explain a little more. The witches, being sisters, are all dressed in the same color but as each sister is unique so is her outfit. Each brings their own personality into their outfit. The “ditzy” Sexy blonde, the normal often overlooked dark haired sister and the oldest, in charge red head!!! If you haven’t seen this movie you should!!! Like I said, I LOVE IT!!!

Hello Lovelies, today I have to share with you are some tags that I made for a tag swap. I recently joined a new yahoo group called All Things Tim… and as you may have guessed from the name this is a group for people who love Tim Holtz.. his techniques, products, you name it, if its Tim it’s all good! So my first swap with them was a 13 Tags of Halloween swap. So I used some of the techniques for the background with my distress inks. It’s kinda simple really but I had to make a lot of them!!! I know that’s no excuse but I am happy with them!!

Hello Lovelies, Welcome to another year of 31 days of Halloween!!! There are so many more participants this year than there were last year, almost double!!! Today I have to share with you 3 projects I have made. One for world card making day which some members of the Bombshell DT have decided to participate in (this same card is a Sneak Peek at what we will be doing on the Beyond the Burtonesque Blog when it goes live on October 4th!!!)..The 2nd and 3rd projects are recipe cards the Bombshell Dt have made. We were issued a DT only challenge and that was to make 8x8 recipe cards using our Bombshells!

The theme our bombshells decided to go with for world card making day is friendship. I colored them all with warm greys, yet each witch has her own personal touch. Cause we all know that we are unique in our own way!!!

31 Days of Halloween Rules and Regulations!!!

Wicked Blogger

What You Have To Do:

Wicked Bloggers sign up to make and post one Halloween or Day of the Dead project for each and every day in October. Sign up begins on August 17, 2011 and ends on September 20, 2011. To sign up, add your NAME and BLOG ADDRESS to a comment under this post by September 20, 2011. All Wicked Bloggers will receive a Survival Button at the end of the month to proudly post on their blog.

The Rules:

Wicked Bloggers must post one project each day in October on their blog by 9AM Pacific time in order to qualify for the grand prize drawing. The project must be handmade and stamped with either a rubber or digi stamp. This year we are allowing all digital projects as long as they are the bloggers original digital art.

Wicked Blogger projects must be "new" in that they can't have been posted anywhere before, including on your own blog, other blogs, forums, or other websites. In other words, no re-using previous projects. Many of our major holidays are just around the corner. I think we all know what my favorite holiday is (Halloweenie! )...but what's yours? My challenge to you is to make a Bombshell project for your favorite holiday. Bonus points if you make a decoration!!! I have to say I love Halloween too!!! Of course with getting ready for 31 Days I had to make something else Halloween. I used Bombshell Angel with her new costumes! I love this steampunky one! She is just totally cool! We have some wonderful projects for you today!!! First off mine!!! of course why else would you be here!!!

I colored her with my copics in lots of shades of purple. I then added stickles to the inside of her cape, cause every lady loves the bling!!! It’s quite a simple card today, gray SU cardstock, some echo park decorative paper from the Apothecary Emporium collection! I love love love that collection!! That’s it.

Forever Night Challenge #10 and Bombshell Tutorial

Hello Lovelies, I hope this Friday finds you all doing well! I am finally getting over the yucky that was going around in my house so I am doing much better! First I would like to say I am sorry I flaked last friday on Challenge #9, I hope you all had fun seeing what the other DT members created! Secondly let me say that I had loads and loads of fun with this challenge!

Now if you know anything about me at all you know that I am a Harry Potter FREAK!!!! well this week our challenge is: Wicked World of Hogwarts!!! We got to work with the Har Repotter line from Bugaboo Stamps I specifically got to work with “the sidekick” (Ron)! You all know he is my favorite! Anyway, this little image reminded me of when we first met Ron on the train when he was trying to work the spell that Fred and George had told him would work on his pet rat! So that is where I went with this, of course the daughter told me I had to make him a true ginger so I tried my hardest using copics and colored pencils to get that right shade of red! I hope it shows in the picture!

SISC76~Photo Inspiration

Hello Lovelies, I hope you are doing well today! Like the title says, we have a photo inspiration challenge for you today! We had 2 photos to choose from and I must say it was hard to make a choice. I chose the one I did because it reminded me of a picture I have of my mom when she was getting a chemo treatment… It’s a Mardi Gras shirt and as soon as I find the box with my scrapbooks in them I will post a picture for you!!! I love my new craft room but organizing it is a pain in the arse!!!

So here is the photo I chose for my inspiration:

Here is the card I made… the sentiment was added digitally because I ran out of ink to print it and it is a digi sentiment to go with the digi image I chose to use. Katie is the name of my image and she is one Rockin cancer patient! Just like my mommy was! Anyway, no sadness today, on with the show! Here is my card:

Bombshell Hop

Now I know your saying Kelli, it’s not the last Wednesday of the month so what do you mean Bombshell Hop!!! Well let me tell you all about it! If you get the Bombshell Newsletter then you already know that Shannon released a new Halloween digi set called Halloween Costume designed to work with your Bombshell Angel stamp set!

Isn’t that cool!!! I love them.. The DT members were give these a couple of weeks ago so that we could make some projects to show what we would do with them! Therefore the hop! So here we are… I have used two of the costumes for today, leaving one for another time.

The first is the witch costume. I colored her with my markers and added some stickles. Then I took the Bombshell sketch for this month and loosely used it for my card. I lightly distressed the edges of all my papers and heavily distressed the sentiment! I am thinking of using both of my projects today for Halloween sleepover invitations!

For my 2nd project I used the Bride of Frank dress up! She too is distressed and colored with copics, no glitter on her but the patterned paper has plenty!!

Here is my take on the sketch... I used the bombshell set Retro Cowgirl. I love that set.. I love all the bombshell sets!

Hello Lovelies, I know it’s been a few days and for that I apologize. I was working really diligently on several projects that needed to be mailed for swaps and also this lovely that I am showing today.

Now some of you may be thinking, if you go by the post title, that my cousin had her baby. Well you would be wrong.. That is a line from Alice In Wonderland, my most favoritest book and movie!! Especially the latest Burton version of it! Anyway The Burtonesque Dolls have decided to close up shop for a while to revamp things and come back with a bang… They are having a DT call and I couldn’t wait to apply, especially with the guidelines set forth for the application… Here they are…

So I had to, I just had to… Alice, for those who don’t know, is my favorite because of the wickedness of it all. I have always said that if there were a true “Kellitopia” it would be wonderland. I could totally be besties with the hatter, and Cheshire cat! Oh how some days I wish there were a Kellitopia!!!

My project is based on a combination of the latest version of Alice in Wonderland and also the PS3 game that was inspired from it.. If you haven’t played the Alice In wonderland game for the game systems, DO IT!!!! I was totally addicted!!! (Shows how much of a nerd I am) . Anyway, I used G45 papers and Images from Simply Betty Stamps : Ellanore and Piper. I love that whole set, but Piper is my favorite… (shhh….don’t tell the others)

This is a planner(tutorial on bombshell blog at the end of the month!!!). I am forever throwing receipts into my purse then never finding them again, or the coupons that print out at Michaels or AC Moore for the next week, I usually find those the day after they expire!! Well no more, I am going to throw this beauty into my purse to catch all the important coupons I want to keep, along with the odd recipe I write the name of when we are eating out and I want to remember to make it at home!

I also made this little card a while back for another challenge but she goes so well with this I thought I would show her again. I used G45 paper here also and SU cardstock..

SISC75 and Smeared and Smudged Blog hop

Hello lovelies, first of all let me say I am so very sorry for being late!!! Today I have for you two projects! The first is for StampInsanity. The Groovy Gurlz under the encouragement of our fearless leader Beth have decided to combine wards and have a bi-weekly challenge from now on! This weeks challenge is Purple and Black! Here is my card:

I know it’s been a while since I participated in a blog hop for S&S but I miss them! This was a last minute thing for me so please be kind…

Here is what Terra said about the theme:

The theme this month is Pieces and Parts. Use at least two stamp or digi images combined to make a "new" image or focal point on your project. So, you can combine the top half of one stamp with the bottom of another, or add a part of one to another, or even build a background from several images, it's up to you! Use your imagination and have fun with it. We can't wait to see what you come up with! Also, don't forget the S&S rule that is has to be stamped somewhere (digi stamps are fine), which we're sure you won't miss with this month's theme.

Easy Peasy right!!! Anyway I used 2 images from 2 different sets, the bot bot set and the stitchy situation set! I think he came out pretty cool though!!!

Craft Room Remix!!!

Hello Lovelies, last week my hubby and I sat down and drew out a new craft room layout to do in the future. Well he surprised me this weekend since he had a 4 day and said lets do it now!!! So Thursday I started packing up everything and moving out so that we would have a clean slate to start with!
Here's what it looked like, messy and all, to begin with!

I know I know, to much stuff and no where to put it!!! So out came storage totes and not yet broken down for recycling cardboard boxes and everything went either into the garage or the laundry room, which is right next door to the craft room! Then I spent all day Thursday packing up…. Ask Alison, I worked my ass off to get this done by Friday morning! Alison also told me to take pictures of the whole process so that we could scrapbook it together…me my craft room and her their bathroom….so I did! I even took a picture of the computer screen to show what music I was playing while cleaning!!!

So here is the clean slate with almost everything gone… We left the paper trays on the wall until it was time to move them…easier that way!

Now there are lots of pictures but I wont show them all now, because then you won’t enjoy my scrapbook pages as I make the book!!!LOL
I can’t tell you how super stoked I am to have a newly designed craft room.. I do not have a finished picture because I have to organize all the crap I mean craft stuff that was in here before but I can show you what the new room looks like put together!

I was either texting Alison or my sister in this pic!!! LOL Taking a break! Do you see my new bright blue wall??? Love it!

Ok I am done for now!!! I am just so excited to have new space!!! There is even room for a couple friends!!!

Put me in the Movies…Bombshell style

Hello lovelies, you know it, it’s time for the Bombshell blog hop! The ever lovely Ms. Alison has set forth for us this month an awesome challenge! This is what Ms. Ali had to say…

This month, the theme is "Put Me in the Movies." Take a movie, and/or movie poster, and use it to inspire your Bombshell Stamps project! Any of your stamp sets will work! And, you can make anything you want!
To get the inspiration flowing...think about using a hot rod set for Cars 2, Sugar Skulls for a horror flick, ship for a Pirate's of the Caribbean movie, etc. And that's not even mentioning your Bombshell gals!

Now doesn’t that just leave us open to do anything!!! It quite honestly took me a while to find a movie I wanted to work with and then last week I found it…”Gentlemen Prefer Blonds” with Marilyn Monroe. I have to admit I am not a big huge Marilyn fan but I found this poster of her one day while shopping with the kids and was sitting here staring at it trying to figure out what to do and DUH look for Marilyn Monroe as she was nothing but a Bombshell!!!

Isn’t that a wicked sweet picture!!!

Anyway while looking through movie titles I saw this poster…

So I thought I would work with it! Now I love the sparkly red they are wearing and it inspired this tag that I made. I will use it for my cousin who’s wife is a brunette!

Forever Night Challenge 6 and Bombshell Tutorial!!

Hello Lovelies! That’s a long post title isn’t it! Well it’s what it says!!! Forever Night Challenge 6 is underway and it is awesome! Our sponsor this week is Paper Shelter and we had some wonderful images to work with! This week we would like for you to create a miniature work of art.

I was given the Creepy Cutie Pals to work with and came up with a cute idea for Halloween party goodies!!! Especially when the teacher wants to have a healthy Halloween party… These are water bottle drink mix holders….

Now on to the Bombshell Tutorial!!!
Shading with color pencils over Copic Markers
This is a tutorial for those of us not lucky enough to own the 17 gazillion colors of copic markers out there! This is how we get to color like we do though!!!
Supplies needed:
Stamp/image of choice
Copic marker(s)* (I used BV02, G05, and E43)
Colored pencils*(I used prisma color pencils: Violet, Parma violet, grass green, and dark brown)
Low odor mineral spirits**
Blending pencils
memento ink
small jar with air tight lid(to put your mineral spirits in for easier use)

To get started, pour some of your mineral spirits into the small jar and make sure the lid is on tightly, set aside. Stamp image with memento ink.

Next color your image with your copics making sure to get an even coat on your image. (I have just done the purple here.)
Next use your colored pencils to put your shading where you want to, or where you think they should be, after all it’s your picture…

Now dip the tip of the blending pencil into your mineral spirits. (Just the tip, you can always dip it back in if your blending pencil runs dry)

Start rubbing your dipped tip onto your colored pencil marks and watch your lines disappear!

wicked cool huh?!
Now here is my finished image.

*you can use any color pencils you want.. I have used Crayola, rose art, any old color pencil you have!! I don’t know about other brands of marker as I only have these…if you try it with another brand of marker and it works let me know!!!
**There is a product called Gamsol that you can use for this also. I like the low odor mineral spirits because it’s cheaper and does the same thing. Gamsol is $6 for a couple of ounces and you have to order it online. The low odor mineral spirits I use is $6 for a quart and I can get it at my local hardware store!

SISC73- Card(s) for Ryan

Hello Lovelies,

Ok on to my card… I used Roder for my card! I love this little dude!!

Now for the surprise, once my daughter found out about Ryan she wanted to make a card also… So we browsed through some challenge sites and found a sketch she wanted to use and this is what she came up with… She too used Roder…

Hello Again everyone.... Today I am sharing with you a charm/pocket watch/jewelry peice that I made using a tutorial I got from Susan. Now, I know mine is no where as good as her's and I know what I did wrong, but honestly I am working on it!!!

Christmas in July....a few days late....

Hello lovelies, how are you doing today? I spent the morning looking around at all the different challenges going on this week and saw a lot of Christmas in July challenges. SOOOOOOO I decided to take a couple of my newly acquired Tiddly Inks digi images and start playing... It all started with a little witch... Yep, Alison the Witch started all this craziness and I am totally happy that she did! So anyway Christmas..... I have some really funky christmas papers that I have wanted to use for a while and never really had an image I wanted to use with them, but this image just screamed out to me that it wanted to be paired with this paper so I did it!

The layout of the card is a sketch from Sweet Stamps blog and I am going to enter my card in their challenge. So what do you think?

Isn't she cute!!! I know cute and Kelli don't really mix but I was feeling the cute mojo today... I also have a couple of other cards in the works for the next couple of days also with images from Tiddly Inks so be on the lookout for those!!!

Bombshell Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies, It's time for another Bombshell Blog hop! I am so excited that we started doing these again, I sure did miss them! This month our lovely Blog hop Captain Alison set forth a color task...These are the colors she wanted us to use...

aren't they lovely. I really really tried to use all 5 colors but try as I might i could not get it to look right for me. Now when you see my card your going to say, well hell Kelli, Koi (from my new Bombshell set Lotus Garden) fish aren't those colors anyway... Well let me tell you something, it's a fine line I am walking living in the real world versus Kellitopia and I just so happened to be in Kellitopia the day I made this card so the Koi fish are this color there!!!! (I double dipped on this card as it is the Bombshell sketch challenge also!!!)

Smeared Ink New Release part 2 and 3

Hello lovelies, I hope this finds you all doing well! Today I am showing you the two projects that should have auto posted Saturday and Sunday as a continuation of Friday’s release blog hop! It really aggravates me when auto post doesn’t work!

Anyway, as stated in Friday’s post some of the DT members for Smeared Ink chose to make more than one project with the new images that were released. I chose two more. On to the first one. I combined this little guy with this months card sketch challenge on Smeared and smudged. Be sure to go to Smeared Ink to see the whole release!

Smeared Ink New Release Hop

Are you ready for some creepy inspiration? The Smeared Ink DT has arranged a hop to horrify!

This will be the first of two Halloween Releases by Smeared Ink. The second release will be in September. There are a total of 11 digi sets being released on 07/15/11 plus one preview single image. The single is part of one of the sets to be released in September but we thought it would be cool to give a sneak peek. Click here for a peek at the sets being released.
