Day 30 of 31 and Hump Day Hop

Hey guys, today is the last Wednesday of the month and you know what that means, Hump Day(said like the commercial with the camel!!) hop by Bombshell Stamps!!!

Alison set for our theme this month Witching Hour.  I immediately knew I wanted to use the Halloween Costume Digi set for Bombshell Angel, I just didn't know what else I wanted to do with her!!!  So I am working on other projects and remember this partial quote from a Shakespeare writing and thought it would be great to use!!! Some say that this is where the term Witching Hour came from, but no one really knows for sure!!!  Anyway here is my project:

'Tis now the very witching time of night..

Here is the whole Soliloquy from Hamlet:

Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world: now could I drink hot blood
And do such bitter business as the day
Would quake to look on. Soft! now to my mother.
O heart, lose not thy nature; let not ever
The soul of Nero enter this firm bosom:
Let me be cruel, not unnatural:
I will speak daggers to her, but use none;
My tongue and soul in this be hypocrites
How in my words soever she be shent,
To give them seals never, my soul, consent!

Day 26 of 31 and Leslie Rahye's Very Spooky Halloween Steampunk blog hop

Hey guys, I have another JSL challenge reminder for you today!  You have until the end of the month to play with us!!  Head on over to see what it's all about!!!

Remember to leave everyone some love and the 31 days blog roll is on the sidebar!!!

This year I am participating in the Very Spooky Halloween Steampunk blog hop and I am so super excited!!!  I LOVE, I mean LOVE LOVE LOVE Steampunk!  and Halloween so the opportunity to make something Steampunk and Halloween was something I just could not resist!!!  I had seen Jim the Gentleman Crafter make a Jacked Up Jack-o-lantern on YouTube last year.  Once I saw that I had to make my own version.  So I did.  Mine is a Steampunk Jack-o-Witch!!

Now a little back story... Everywhere I go I am constantly picking stuff up.. Walk in a parking lot and pick up rusty things, go to the hubby's office on a weekend and I am outside walking the grounds while he is inside doing what ever it is he has to do that day!  I mean everywhere...  I also scour the junk yards, when hubby goes to get car parts I am looking on the ground and in the grass for the little things that people don't care about, and sometimes they just throw them in for free!!!  It's like I  am cleaning for them!!  LOL  anyway that was all told so that you could understand where I got most of the things I put on my
Jack-O-Witch!

OK here are the pictures you have been waiting for!

Here is my Jack-O-Witch!  I started by covering the pumpkin in metal duct tape.  Not Grey Duct tape but the metal shiny tape they use for covering holes in duct work!  Then I thought it looked to shiny for what I wanted so, I took a sponge of the makeup variety and sponged black archival ink all over it.... well that really turned out to purple for me so I took another sponge and sponged Golden Transparent Red Iron Oxide fluid acrylic paint all over... that made it really pretty but kinda to orange, so then I took Golden Carbon Black fluid acrylic paint and sponged that over it and there you go, that's where the color came from!!

This is a paper mache hat I got from the craft store.... I had this tissue paper with the keys on it I got last year so I ripped it up and adhered it with fluid matte medium...  while it was still wet I added the same fluid acrylic paints to it and bent the brim of the hat to give it some character.

Here are most of my found objects, some I have purchased in the past like the key and the little pointy eye but most of the items are found or made with a big shot...  The Gears are grunge board cut with the big shot and painted with gold paint, under the key eye is a wooden drawer pull that I shoved into the pumpkin... the nose is an old screw I found on the ground somewhere and the little screws were in my stash and I have no idea where they came from!!!  The mouth is a drawer pull I got from the habitat for humanity resale store!!  The eyeglass rim was found on a parking lot and also the spring!

I hope you enjoyed my Steampunk Jack-O-Witch!!  Now make sure to hop to see the rest of today's projects!!!  There are prizes to be won and Leslie Rahye has all those details for you!
Here are the hop participants!!

Day 23 of 31

Hey guys, today I have or you another simple ATC I made using another $1 spot image!!  I again used washi tape and the background paper is something called mod podge paper... I guess it is designed to use with mod podge, I just got it cause it was on clearance and Halloween theme!!!

Remember to leave everyone some love and the blog roll is on the sidebar!!!

Emily yesterday you asked how I colored the black... I used my spectrum noir markers, true black, IG10, IG8, and IG6.  Your could also use the cool greys with copics starting with the darkest and stepping down 2... There are great tutorials with copics out there, I just don't use them often... sorry...Anyway I went over the natural black lines on the image with my black, then over that an a little further out with the IG10, then over the IG10 and a little further out with the IG8, and then over the whole image with the IG6.  Sorry I don't have time to show in pictures right now!  There are tutorials out there though, some on the spectrum Noir website lots on youtube!!

Day 8 of 31 and Get Your Crap Together!!!

Day 8 already!!! Today I made a project using Alison the Witch from Tiddly Inks.

She is colored with spectrum noir markers.  I love that image!!! Blog roll is on the side bar and the rules and regulations are in a tab up above!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This year I am doing another post for Get Your Crap Together's 31 Days of Halloween but this year I am doing a recipe!!  A few years ago I made Caramel Apple Cupcakes for the Tea Party under the Harvest moon blog hop and everyone loved these cupcakes, even Rainey the Basset Hound.  Seriously I made them and had them on a cake stand on the island and while we were gone she pulled it off the island and proceeded to eat 10 cupcakes cause we ate 2 already..  I have no idea how she didn't eat the glass that broke when the cake plate came down but she didn't!! She did cut her paws but that didn't stop fat girl from eating what she wanted!!!  Anyway that was like I said a few years ago and this time I will make sure they are where she can't reach them!!  Anyway that was the last time I made the cupcakes because soon after, like two weeks, I found out I had type two diabetes... kinda sucks but I am dealing with it!!  Anyway when the opportunity came for me to make a recipe for this blog I ask the family what they wanted and they all said Caramel Apple Cupcakes!!  So that is what we are going to have!!!
Caramel Apple Cupcakes
1 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
zest of one lemon
juice of half a lemon
2 eggs
1 lb apples chopped( usually 2 apples)
1 1/2 cups chewy caramel candies(about 25)
1 tbsp. heavy cream
Preheat oven to 350*.  Prepare muffin pan by lining with baking liners.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, lemon zest and salt. Set aside.
Shred or chop the apples into a small bowl and toss with the lemon juice.  Set aside.
In a medium bowl whisk together the eggs and sugars until well blended, then whisk in the oil and vanilla.
Stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture until well blended.  This will be thick.
Add in the apples until just blended.
Fill the lined muffin cups with the mixture, a little less than 1/3 cup each.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until done.  Let cool slightly in the pan then move to a cooling rack...It is very important that they are completely cool!!!
 Once cool combine the caramels and the heavy cream in a bowl and microwave for 1 minute.  Stir.  Microwave for 30 seconds more.  Stir, keep stirring, you will come to a point where you say screw it I am done, it's going on lumpy, but don't give up, keep stirring until it's smooth.
Then spoon on top of each cupcake!!!
Hello Lovelies, today is the day we start showcasing the new images from JSL!!  This months images are freaking awesome!!!  I love them so much!!
Here is the image I chose to work with today:
They are called Zombie Friends... Are they cute!!!
Now there is a saying I have seen on pinterest and around other places that says:"I love you but if the Zombies come I am tripping you"!  So I thought that since they were already zombies and besties I would reverse it so that we were all living in Zombie Land and the Humans were bad!!!
I Love you But if the HUMAN's come I am tripping you!!!
Remember to follow all directions of the 31 days hop and that the blog roll is on the sidebar!!!
