New Sequins

I’ve made my first fall card!!  It was wonderful to make one after prepping over 500 Christmas cards to work on when I go on my retreat in Idaho in a couple of weeks.  My friend Alison recently turned me onto Doodles Paper Playground and their wonderful sequins packs!!  I just had to get all of their August release and some more!!!  Here is my first fall card and I love it!!

I used the But first, Coffee and the Be-Leaf in yourself sequins for this card!  Lawn Fawn stam set, You’re a hoot!

DIY Ink Storage

I am no snob to ink...  I do not turn my nose up to any ink.  Inks like versafine black for stamping, the SSS hybrid black, memento black, they are in a drawer with all my stamp blocks and adhesive !  All my other inks on the other hand were literally just thrown into a drawer in small boxes that I had to dig through any time I wanted a colored ink.  So as I am getting into the swing of crafting again and deciding what I want to spend time on the most, I am organizing my studio!!!  My wonderful Husband put in cabinets and a counter top for me soon after we moved into this house after we moved back to VA from Idaho.  I will show more of those another time..

So I have spent the past couple of days trying to figure out how to make my ink drawer more organized and I finally found it!!!  Make a box for each ink....  So I did...

showing the score and cut lines.  I will add dimensions at the bottom!

Before I organized.

Without mini ink pads.  That storage system is still in the works as I have more than will fit into my box.

This and the following pictures are the steps I did to make each box.  They are pretty straight forward but please let me know in the comments if you have any questions.

This is where you have to fit your boxes into your drawer or whatever you are using to see how many fit in a row.  Luckily all of my large distress inks fit in one row as I have started getting the mini inks. Distress Oxides are another animal all together as they cannot be stored on their sides.

Look at my almost all the way organized drawer!!!  Now it looks like I need to get more inks to fill it up!  Oh the things we go through as crafters!!!

And there it is!!!!

Deminsions for the boxes:

Distress Inks
Cardstock cut to 63/4 by 4 1/2
Score long side at 3 and 3 3/4
Score short side at 3/4 and 3 3/4
cut and miter the small square up to the score line on long side

SSS Ink pads
Cardstock cut to 8 3/4 x 4 1/4
score long side at 4 and 4 3/4
score short side at 3/4 and 3 1/2
cut and miter the small square as shown in the first two pictures.

Thanks guys!  C-Ya

OK, It has been so long since I have posted anything to my blog and just as long since I have actually made anything.  Well I made Christmas cards for donations and some personal but that is it.  I have gone through so positive life altering things lately and it has made me realize who I am and what I want to strive for.  My blog will no longer be just about stamping and card making, I am going to try to incorporate my blog into my life.  I have no idea where it will take me but I am willing to hop on this train and enjoy the ride!

I have a list of things I want to do in my head that concern my blog:
-I would like to post at least once a week, more if possible.
-I would like for my posts to be about anything and everything.
-Posts do not necessarily have to have a "project" with them.
-I want to play more.
-I want to craft more.
-I want to be me!!!

That being said let the fun begin.

I was gone so long because i got a big girl job for the first time in over 20 years.  Then quit that job because of the management, but that's ok I am lucky enough that i do not Have to work if I don't want to and right now I don't.  Doesn't mean I am not keeping my eyes and ears out for a lead just that i have the time to pick and choose what is good for me!!

Jewel is married, which most of you knew, no grand babies in the near future and I am ok with that... Hunter is in college, locally, so he lives at home.  BUT if you have a child in college, with a job, then you know that living at home means they come in when you are asleep and leave after they eat all of your food, I love it though!!

Last year I didn't do 31 days and that was positively depressing for me so I am already planning my projects for this year and will post them all on my own if I have too!

Over the past 2 years I have donated 800 Christmas cards and this year I want to make even more so I have a plan... My plan is to make 100 Christmas cards a month, so far that hasn't happened, but as long as I make some all year I will be happy I am just shooting for that many every month!  Next year I would like to donate Valentines cards to the children in St. Judes so I am looking into that as well... A lady over on youtube called Christy get Crafty, those c's may be K's, has information about that card drive.

Anyway enough about that I just wanted to basically warn you that this blog is going to be about Kelli now and not all about stamping!
