A Cut Above

Time for this months Bombshell Blog Hop and Alison set our theme as "A Cut Above!"  She wanted everyone to break out those Sizzix, Cricut, and Silhouette machines and pair them with some fantastic Bombshell Stamps!!!

So I did... I wanted to make a tag because I haven't in a while and I also wanted to use a technique I saw done by France Papillon.  When I saw her tag I knew I wanted to do something similar and thought I was going to do it in a art journal background, then I remembered these tags I got that are super huge.. I believe this one is a #10 tag...  Anyway I set my Silhouette to cutting out different size tags, glued them to a tag... A little paint, distress stain, and distress ink later and here is what you get...

I used the Homeward Bound stamp set from Bombshell.   Now I have to be honest here, that ghosting stamping you see, if that's what you call it, is a total and complete accident!!  It's a quite happy accident, but an accident non the less!  I used Versafine ink to stamp my images because I wanted the black to pop, well the first time I stamped the ship onto the background the image didn't quite come out all the way so I thought, my background is sealed I'll just use a baby wipe to clean up the ink... yeah NO, this is the result you get when you try that!!  but then I thought how freakin awesome does that look so I went with it and started wiping off ink on purpose!!!  And this is my final result... I will most likely use this tag in my family cruise scrapbook when I start it... That being said we took the cruise Christmas of 2010 and I haven't even started thinking about starting it so we will see!!!  LOL

Now head over to see what Kathi has made for you today and if you got lost on your way through the hop head to the Bombshell Blog to get the complete list of hoppers!!!
