Hello lovelies,
Today we are having a wonderful hop! Teri over at Delicious doodles is one of our sponsors this month over on Smeared and Smudged and offered the DT some wonderful images from her shop!!! I chose the Skeletal Candle Holder image. Why you may ask, it's not Halloween you say, well why can't Halloween be everyday I ask, and I say to you one I love candles, two I love skulls, and three why not get something that has both!!!!! When I started working on my card for this hop I knew I wanted to do something very basic with my image. So I just sponged Antique Linen Distress ink all over it, then I set it aside because something just wasn't right with it to me. I mean if is so beautifully drawn that it doesn't need me to change it much. so I'm sitting here looking at it and think OK I need to add some color so I just reach over into my marker bin and pick the first one that touches my fingers, pull it out and there is orange. I use orange as a highlight/color pop here and there and call it good. Then I start searching for patterned paper to use that will go with it. All the while thinking what am I going to make this look like. Then I'm like DOH you have a card sketch silly so there ya go. A double dipper for the DD hop and the S & S card sketch challenge. Yeah sorry for rambling there.....
Anyway I put the card together and it's sitting there waiting for it's glamour shots appointment and I start thinking, I wonder why the color orange picked this project. What does the color orange mean.... so I googled it... here is what I found. It's the 3rd one down on the google page, cause 3 is a good number...
'Orange is a colour which is formed by mixing red and yellow. It is a colour which symbolizes energy, zest, enthusiasm and creativity. One who wears orange is known to be someone who loves to experiment. Orange is also an appetite stimulant.
The colour orange signifies an open-minded approach. It gives vibes of friendship, fun and informality. Sexually speaking, the colour orange signifies passion and foreplay, an adjunct to the colour red which signifies erotica. If red is the colour of passion, then orange is known to be the 'igniter' of passion. The colour orange certainly draws attention as being liberal and unconventional. It is also known to be an immune booster. No wonder, one sees tonics, sexual stimulants and immunity boosting medicines sold usually in orange coloured packs.'
Now I know why it picked me and my project, it knew I needed energy and creativity!!!
Here is the hop list! Please head on over and see what everyone has made!!! IT's FUN!!!!
