Day 26 of 31 and Leslie Rahye's Very Spooky Halloween Steampunk blog hop

Hey guys, I have another JSL challenge reminder for you today!  You have until the end of the month to play with us!!  Head on over to see what it's all about!!!

Remember to leave everyone some love and the 31 days blog roll is on the sidebar!!!

This year I am participating in the Very Spooky Halloween Steampunk blog hop and I am so super excited!!!  I LOVE, I mean LOVE LOVE LOVE Steampunk!  and Halloween so the opportunity to make something Steampunk and Halloween was something I just could not resist!!!  I had seen Jim the Gentleman Crafter make a Jacked Up Jack-o-lantern on YouTube last year.  Once I saw that I had to make my own version.  So I did.  Mine is a Steampunk Jack-o-Witch!!

Now a little back story... Everywhere I go I am constantly picking stuff up.. Walk in a parking lot and pick up rusty things, go to the hubby's office on a weekend and I am outside walking the grounds while he is inside doing what ever it is he has to do that day!  I mean everywhere...  I also scour the junk yards, when hubby goes to get car parts I am looking on the ground and in the grass for the little things that people don't care about, and sometimes they just throw them in for free!!!  It's like I  am cleaning for them!!  LOL  anyway that was all told so that you could understand where I got most of the things I put on my
Jack-O-Witch!

OK here are the pictures you have been waiting for!

Here is my Jack-O-Witch!  I started by covering the pumpkin in metal duct tape.  Not Grey Duct tape but the metal shiny tape they use for covering holes in duct work!  Then I thought it looked to shiny for what I wanted so, I took a sponge of the makeup variety and sponged black archival ink all over it.... well that really turned out to purple for me so I took another sponge and sponged Golden Transparent Red Iron Oxide fluid acrylic paint all over... that made it really pretty but kinda to orange, so then I took Golden Carbon Black fluid acrylic paint and sponged that over it and there you go, that's where the color came from!!

This is a paper mache hat I got from the craft store.... I had this tissue paper with the keys on it I got last year so I ripped it up and adhered it with fluid matte medium...  while it was still wet I added the same fluid acrylic paints to it and bent the brim of the hat to give it some character.

Here are most of my found objects, some I have purchased in the past like the key and the little pointy eye but most of the items are found or made with a big shot...  The Gears are grunge board cut with the big shot and painted with gold paint, under the key eye is a wooden drawer pull that I shoved into the pumpkin... the nose is an old screw I found on the ground somewhere and the little screws were in my stash and I have no idea where they came from!!!  The mouth is a drawer pull I got from the habitat for humanity resale store!!  The eyeglass rim was found on a parking lot and also the spring!

I hope you enjoyed my Steampunk Jack-O-Witch!!  Now make sure to hop to see the rest of today's projects!!!  There are prizes to be won and Leslie Rahye has all those details for you!
Here are the hop participants!!

Day 26/31 - cutest little monsters!
The banners are a delighful embellishing element.

Steampunk witch - I can so relate! Both hubby and myself are pickers. We see shiny or rusty objects and can not resist picking them up. I love our Habitat store. Often they will just give me things.

Your witch turned out wonderfully. I had to pin her.
