Some Like it HOT!!!!

Hello Lovelies,
Welcome to the August edition of the Bombshell Blog Hop!  This month we are having a combined hop with the girls over at Gauche Alchemy!!!  Totally cool!  Our theme this month is Some like it Hot, Hot, Hot.  We got our inspiration from the move Some Like it Hot, and from the song, Hot, Hot, Hot!  I have to admit, I had not seen the movie, but had heard the song so I was going to go with that in the beginning, then decided to look up the movie to see what I could see! Once I saw pictures of the movie poster you could have blown me away with a feather, can you say ga ga over it!!!, I totally love black and white movies, pictures, anything really.  So I ran with it.  Now we all know that Marilyn is famous for her white dress image, among other things, but I just couldn't do it.  I couldn't leave it white, no matter how hard I tried, so I thought what color do you think of when you think hot.....ummmmmmmmmmm  RED so that's where I went.  The whole card is shades of gray with a red pop of the clothing!  I think Marilyn would have loved it!

Ok Ok so they are crappy pictures.  I realized when I started to take them earlier, that the camera battery was dead and by the time it charged, the sun was gone, and the house lighting ummmm SUCKED!!!  You get the meaning of the project anyway, right?

Check this out!

Now hop on over to my lovely friends blogs to continue your journey on the awesome combined hop!

The light of my Eyes

Hello lovelies,

First I would like to introduce you to Michelle. She is the guest DT member of the month over on Smeared and Smudged. She has issued a great challenge this month.  It is a scrapbook recipe!  Now those of you who know me know that I do not consider myself a scrapper.  Well today I created not only one but two scrapbook pages!!!!  I know, pick your jaws up off the floor, it surprised me too!  They are not both for this but they are both for challenges issued over on Smeared and Smudged this month! Head on over and check out all the challenges we have going on over there, you can find them here!  We have a couple of  very awesome sponsors this month.  They are Wild Flower Kids and Smeared Ink!

The Cherry Blossom is a digital stamp image I got from the creativemindofsylvie.  All of the other elements are from a digital kit I received from Digiscraps3, when I was a DT member there.
Now I can't say that I sat down and pulled out all of my supplies and started stamping and making a scrapbook page, but I can say that I am becoming a pro at digital scrap booking.  I am totally falling in love with the digital side of things!!!  Anyway, come on over to smeared and smudged.  We are just a group of crafters, who are interested in  Alternative, Vintage, and Gothic Art Rubber Stamping, who love to share the uniqueness with others!!

August Smeared and Smudged Member blog hop

Hello lovelies, it's time again for the Smeared and Smudged member bolg hop!!  I am so excited about this one!  Our theme this month is Hidden Object.  We were to make a project with a hidden object or base them around hiding.  I was so excited because I just learned how to make this peek-a-boo card!!!!!!!!  I am sure that is not the technical term for the card, but on this episode of cajunstampingqueen ignores everything to make a project, that is what it is called!! LOL

On my card, I used the Jacks set from Smeared Ink.  I totally love love love this set!  You can do anything with it.  It can be cute, although in my mind Jack in the boxes are never cute, or it can be creepy, or anywhere in between. I colored my Jack with my copics and colored in the words and stars with a little bit of Tim Holtz distress ink, broken china and pine needles. I used Stampin Up cardstock Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi(retired).  The patterned paper, I don't know who it is as I received pieces of it in a RAK!!!  I will be posting a tutorial for this card over on Smeared and Smudged just as soon as possible so come and join us over there for the nitty gritty of the card workings. There are several wonderful ladies joining me on this hop and I can't wait for you to see their projects as well.  So off you go to the next adventure!

Big Fish-y Carnival

This week Smeared Ink is the sponsor for The Burtonesque Dolls Challenge!  This weeks challenge was to create a Big Fish-y scene!  Totally love this movie! So that was our inspiration for the project we needed to make.  I love the scene where he is underwater in his car and the mermaid comes to help out.  So I tried to recreate that in my card. If you have not done so you should totally check out the sites above and also Smeared and Smudged there are some pretty awesome things going on at all of them!!!

I used Tim Holtz patterned paper, the Mermaid and words are from the Carnies stamp set from Smeared Ink(which happens to be the prize for this challenge plus the carnie digi), micor beads from Pennywise Arts, and SU cardstock, and Tim Holtz distress ink refills to color the oval frame. I colored my Mermaid with copics # B00, B05, B32, BG23, E21, G02, R27. Everything is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
