What's in your Brew?

Hello Lovelies. Ok let's be honest with each other, it was a long long weekend with the hubby and kids home from work and off from school for 5 days and I completely forgot that it was my Tuesday to post on Smudgy Antics until ummmmm like 9pm on Monday..... Soooooooooo, as most of you know I have several projects that I have made and posted that are works in progress so I decided to work on one of those.!!! In January I posted this lovely post for the S and S member hop! It was meant to be a place where I kept my everyday thoughts for journaling in my art journal and has turned into something completely different! Fo those of you who don't know I went to school to become a chef and actually finished and worked as a chef for a few years, then things happen and one thing leads to another and now I am a stay at home mom and I love it. I love to cook and am always looking for new things to try. My kids know this and have started writing down recipes or tearing them out of magazines for me(of course only things they are interested in!!!). So long story short, this has turned into a recipe holder of sorts. This is where I keep those bits and scraps until they are tested and voted on and then they are put into the bigger recipe holder!!!

Today I added a digi image from SI Mad Scientist set and the words Witche's Brew (which will be printed out and attached to the actual book!!!)... This is where I keep all my Halloween themed recipes. You know the kids are always bringing those home cause they involve candy or sugar most of the time!!!Anyway, I am sorry I didn't do something more elaborate for you today, I will try not to forget next time!!!! Hope you enjoy!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Hello Lovelies!!!  Yes you are reading the post title correctly, it's time for the return of the monthly Bombshell Hump Day Hop!!!!  I was so excited when this was put to the DT members if we wanted to resurrect the hop so to say and very very excited that my friend Alison decided to take over!!!

This month is awesome and I can't wait for next months either!!!!  This month Alison said:

Goth up your Bombshells!!!

Yup! Let's break out the heavy eyeliner, dark, edgy clothes and let's turn those beautiful pinups into creatures of the night! Don't forget to draw some tats and chokers on to your girls too! We're going to dress 'em up Alison style!

And I have to say it just may be Kelli style.....  Now I didn't go short skirt hiking boots, or fishnets and torn shorts, although I have several Bombshells colored in that manner....I just didn't choose those to be my final project!!!  Nope I chose the one that was inspired by Morticia and Elvira with a little Lady GAGA thrown in there for good measure.... I mean why pass up the opportunity for the ultimate Bombsell!!!!

Now the Bombshell was stamped out and colored with copics and stickles.  Her skirt is a piece of Halloween ribbon I had left over!  The patterened paper with the lips was a RAK and the silver cardstock from Michales.  The skull in the background was a digital add on once  the card was complete!!!   I just realized that I can use this as a twofer.... Ms. May Bombshell has a challenge on the forum!!  Now hop on over and see what everyone else has made for you today!!!!!

Simply Betty Smeared and Smudged Style

Hello Lovelies, Today my Smeared Ink DT friends and I are having a blog hop featuring one of this months sponsors Simply Betty.  Betty and a couple of her DT girls are joining us for this hop as well! Betty offered out DT some free digi images of her Zombie Teens or Summber Zombie Teens.  I chose to get the Christian Zombie teen, but couldn't resist sneaking back over and purchasing a couple of the summer zombies as well!!!!  I love those zombies!!!!  Anyway, Simply Betty is sponsoring a couple of the challenges over on Smeared and Smudged so if you want some wonderful digi images from her you better come on over there and play!!!

So as I said I chose the regular Zombie teen Christian and for some reason I love this dude.  I also have a couple of rubber Christian images as well as a few other digi images of him.... there is just something about this image that reminds me of my son....maybe its the personality that comes out of his eyes when I look at him... who knows.  Anyway I have him and I couldn't wait to play because the first thing that popped into my head wasn't the fact that he was carrying his head in his hands, it was the look in his eyes that said, My mom is gonna kill me for ripping my brand new jeans!!!!!!  Maybe that is just my wicked sense of humor coming out who knows... I am sure his mom would be just as upset about his head falling off, you know blood on the carpet and all, but who knows... depends on how much the jeans cost.!

So here is my project, it is my take on the sketch challenge on Smeared and Smudged! Like my good friend Lady Brayton said, not all scrapbook pages need pictures...I think the image is wonderful and should be the focal point!

So leave me some love then continue on with your hop... If you started with me make sure to go back to the top of the list and see what everyone has made....

Grumpily Graduating!

Hello Lovelies, Today I have to share with you a card I made using the card sketch, from the sketch challenge on Smeared and Smudged. I used Artie, a graduating Grumpy for my card, he is this months freebie for participating on the forum! Now you may be thinking,Kelli that doesn't say anything about graduation. Well you would be right, I made this card for a friend of my daughter who loves Alice in Wonderland almost as much as I do, therefore the sentiment! Today is also my day to share on the Smeared Ink DT blog, Smudgy Antics, so head on over there and see what all the other DT members have been up to as well!!!

Oh and one other thing.  Skull appreciation day is June 4, 2011 and we over at smeared and smudged have joined in on the celebration with a blog hop! It's open to every forum member so come on over and join the forum to participate!!!  You will get a free digi image of a skull to play with(available later this week) and meet lots of new friends!!!!! You can find more information here!

Smeared and Smudged Member Hop May

Hello Lovelies, Welcome to the hop!  This month I set forth a challenge for this hop, it was to use a technique, new or well known to you, the catch was though that no technique could be repeated!!!!  I chose to do the masking technique that I learned just recently from my friend Katie

I would like to introduce to you The Glam Vamps:  Ann-Marie, Anya, Christine, Clarice, and Rachel.  They are not new, although kinda newish to the Smeared Ink line up and they are all digi images.... Now you may be thinking how in the heck do you do the masking technique with digi images....well that's simple you just print them out twice!!!!! Of course if you want to have a scene like I have created then you need to tweak the size a bit and maybe play around with the way they are in the scene like I have done using photoshop, or whatever your favortie program is!!!  Once I got them to stand the way I wanted I printed them out twice, once on cardstock, once on printer paper.  Then when they cardstock was covered with the printer paper I pulled out my Holy city set from Smeared Ink and stamped over top of them!  I kinda wanted my vamps to be the focal point so I left the background without much, if any color!

Now hop on over to see what everyone else has made, with there techniques!!!!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Smeared Ink New Release Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies, I hope this day finds you all doing well and recovering from a wonderful mothers day!  Weather you were the mother or the child, I hope you had a wonderful day!

Now on to the Smeared Ink new release hop, now before I go much further I wanted to pass on a little secret, today only May 9, 2011 Smeared Ink is having a digi sale... Buy 2 get 1 FREE!!!!!  This is a small release as Terra and Tori are gearing up for a major Halloween release in July, exciting, exciting!!! I can't wait and I know you can't either!  So on with today's show, the two releases for today are called

Von Bayros

Stitchy Situation

I got to work with one of the stitchy situation images, the one that is kinda flopped over with his bum in the air!  I made a card with him but if I could have found the empty bottles I wanted to use I would have added a whole new meaning to Bottoms Up!!! LOL  Alas, I am still coughing like there is no tomorrow and digging through dust and boxes was not on the agenda!!!!  :((  Oh well there are always more projects to do!

Here is my card, now I have added the words digitally using photo shop but they are part of the digi set.  The image was printed out and colored with copics and quite honestly there are so many colors on top of colors to acheive these "patchwork" effect that I can't remember them all right now and wasn't thinking clearly enough at the time to write them down...sorry!  I used Brilliant Blue card stock from SU and the patterned paper is one I received in a RAK so I do not know the name...

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my little part of blog land today and I really wish you would head on over to see what all of my lovely DT partners in crime have created!!!! You know there is going to be some wonderful creations out there!!!!

Hello My Pet

Hello lovelies, I have missed you so.  Being sick SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Alas I have returned with my offering for the Smudgy Antics DT Blog.  If you haven't been there yet you should go!  It's full of wonderfully wicked art work, simply because we have wonderfully wicked DT membes!!!! Make sure to check out the new challenges over on Smeared and Smudged also, we have some wonderful sponsors this month, Simply Betty and Sweet November Stamps!!!!!! You know you don't want to miss out on those!!!

Today I have for you a bookmark/tag I made using Smeared Ink digi set Fedom.  I didn't do much to the image itself except add a little chalk here and there(thanks Alison for turning me on to that!).  The tag on the other hand I distressed the hell out of and then added a really cool background (from Itkupilli) I have had for a while!  My image i popped up for some depth.  No it's not quite finished as I haven't added ribbon and bling yet.  I know what I want to use and I know I have it, it's just a matter of digging it out and as I was a sick one this past few days that didn't happen!!!
