Winter Wonder Blog Hop!

Hey guys!  It’s time for another White Rose Crafts Blog Hop! This month we are celebrating Winter Wonder! We will be creating inspiration projects featuring snowflakes, snowmen, ice, winter critters, skating, sledding and everything else that goes along with this cold and beautiful season. In addition to the incredibly talented WRC design team, we are also very excited to be collaborating with several members of the Doodles Paper Playground team. We invite you to hop along with us, and be sure to leave a comment on every leg of the hop! We will be giving away prizes and offering a Blog Candy Discount Code, so be sure to visit every stop on the hop for more chances to win! Now, go get inspired!

Start your hop over at White Rose Crafts blog! Today I made a square card using a sheet of 3D Decoupage images! Now if you have been to my blog during any winter of any year since I started it you know I absolutely LOVE snowmen... This sheet was perfect for me!

As the page says, it is very easy to use!  You just start popping out the images and putting them together.  Now don't go crazy and pop everything out at once, every layer is numbered!

Start with the main image and then add the layers with dimensional
tape.

Before you know it you have a layered card that was easy peasy lemon squeeze!!!!

Look at those layers of dimension!

I had enough elements to decorate the inside of the card with a few left over for tags or something!  Maybe paperclip toppers for the calendar!

Remember to leave a comment on each blog for more chances to win.  Below are the prizes and rules and regulations!!!

Doodles Paper Playground Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle Blends October Release Blog Hop for Doodles Paper Playground! This month is full of Blends that are perfect for the upcoming holiday season and beyond! The Designing Divas will be sharing projects featuring these new Sparkle Blends on their blogs and you can check out a close-up look at each of the Blends on the Doodles Paper Playground Blog. So if you just landed here because you love me, head over there to follow the blog list and see what everyone else has made!!

We have custody of the married couple this year!  Lol. We alternate years with my Daughter Jewel’s (Mary) in-laws.  This year we have them thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and they have Christmas Day, next year it will reverse!  I look forward to the years we have them both holidays, although they do only live a couple of miles away from us and we have weekly family dinners, I am just selfish and want all my kiddos with me all the time!  Especially since they are all adults now!

Anyway, this year we have them for Thanksgiving Day and I’m not sure yet if anyone else is coming.  We are waiting to hear from my Mother-in-law will be able to come after therapy.  So there could be up to 8 more!!  I’ll make place cards as I need them, they are super fun and easy to make!

My background paper is made on a 4x6 index card using distress inks and stamped with archival ink. I am obsessed with this color combo as of late.  It is mustard seed, spiced marmalade, and aged mahogany.  I think they make a fabulous fall background! I cut the background paper into 2x4 strips and added them to a piece of card stock cut 2 1/4 x 8 1/2, and scored at 4 1/4.  I then took some letter stickers from the October kit from white rose crafts (who is also the exclusive retail shop for sparkle blends) to spell out our names and then added some word and circle stickers..  I then placed sequins from the Gingerbread man sparkle blend pack and here ya go!  Quick and easy place cards!!  I hope you are having fun on this hop and remember to leave everyone some love!!

Thankful for those who served blog hop

Hey guys, I am back today with another blog hop with Leslierhaye and the gang!  This month we are doing a thankful for those who served hop and I don't really have a project to show you just a story about our time in the Navy!  We have been retired now for almost 4 years(February 2014) and I am very thankful for that!  Although I have to say, civilian life is not quite as much fun as military life, in terms of friendships and that feeling of community, at least not where we are living now, but OH SO THANKFUL for the job!!!
Anyway when my kidlings were younger every time their daddy would go away for any length of time we would make paper chains and hang them around the house.  We would start the chain with as many links as the days he would be gone and then everyday we would take one off!  It was really lots of fun to see their little faces get excited about the chain getting shorter!!   We would take strips of papers, any paper really whatever they found important at the time, printer paper, anything!!  If they brought it to me on the chain making roundup day we worked it into the chain somehow!  I miss those days, my babies are 18 and 14 now!!  Anyway, we would tear or cut the papers into strips and then glue, tape, or staple them together!  Then we would hang them around the house, the longer the chain, the more rooms it went into, the shorter the fewer!  One year their daddy was supposed to be deployed for 5 months, so we made the chain with as many days as necessary and hung it and said see ya soon to daddy, never goodbye, and he left and we started our daily ritual of pulling one link off!  Then three weeks before daddy was to come home we woke up to some horrible news reports on 9/11... Now on an aircraft carrier you get almost daily emails, especially when the hubby/daddy has an office...or those weekly phone calls that are so so so very very coveted!!!  and you look forward to each and everyone of those... so when you see what is happening on the television and you  run to the computer to check emails and send one off to the man and it comes back right away as not deliverable, and you send it again and again it comes back immediately you know something is up!! So you try to be normal and send the oldest off to school and get the youngest ready for his first day of pre-school but you know something is WRONG!!! So I got the little one home from preschool and down for his nap after lunch and the phone starts ringing, it's your father, your sister, your mother-in-law and you have no answers to the one single question they all asked, Is Steven still coming home?  All I could say was I will let you know as soon as I know!!  Then the phone call from the ombudsman, for those of you who don't know what she does, she is the one person, usually a woman who can stay in contact with the ship at all times, the one you depend on in times like these, usually the captain's wife, or the XOs wife, anyway she calls with the message, no communication until further notice and no return until further notice.  Your heart falls, for several reasons, because this has happened and it shouldn't have, because your husband isn't coming home as soon as you thought, because you can't send him the daily emails of how things at school and home went and the little tell daddy what we had for dinner, or tell him what I made at school, because your heart is hurting and the one person who helps make everything better isn't there, but mostly because you don't know how to explain things to the kidlings... You have no words to tell the 6 year old why there is a plane in the building on TV except to turn the TV off and say it's mean people doing mean things, the 2 year old just want to watch Blue's Clues...you have not idea how to tell them that this time, we have to stop taking the links off the chain until mommy know more information, and absolutely no idea how to make their hearts heal when you tell them that daddy will not be home when we thought he was going to be home and that you have no idea when daddy will be home!!!

What I meant by I miss the friendships and sense of community of the military and a military town is this, during these times when you live 36 hours away from your closest family all you have are the women, men and children who are living right next to you going through the same things you are going through and somehow they become your family, they become the closest friendships you will ever have and will ever keep.  Paper chains remind me of this!

Now I was going to make a paper chain to show you but I figured you all knew what one was so I found some awesome pictures on Google for you to go and check out!!

Enjoy the rest of the hop and whenever you make a paper chain or see a paper chain, remember it may have been made to count down the days until someone comes home!

A Very Merry Steampunk Holiday

Hello Lovelies,  today is super special for me... My friend and fellow APDT member Leslie Rahye has decided to have a Holiday Blog hop... What's special about this one, well it's steampunk of course.  We could do anything we liked with a steampunk theme so I decided to do a Snowman/Top Hat!!  Now my vision for this is to make a paper mache snowman to wear this hat!  No it's not done yet because I just thought of it so it's still a work in progress(the snowman) but the Hat is done.  I found these paper mache top hats at Michaels in October and snatched up a couple before they were gone.  Not really having any clue as to what I wanted to do with them then I heard about this blog hop and knew what one was going to be!!! I hope to be done with my snowman before christmas but if you have ever made your own paper mache items(big ones at that) then you know it takes a while to get them done.

That key paper is tissue paper I got from Michael's it comes in a 5 pack... it's by recollections.  The band is some printed canvas also by recollections from Michales.

The tiny gears are from Tim Holtz. The clear beads are dew drops.  They circle the band.

There is a double layers poinsetta with some greenery from the craft store as well.

Be sure to visit everyone and leave some love!!!  Cause everyone needs some love!!!

Ink Stains Altered Altoid Tin Blog Hop/Art Festival

Hello Lovelies, today I am super excited to show you this Altered Altoid Tin I have been working on for a while.  A few months ago my friend Roni Johnson sent out an email asking for people who would like to participate in her Blog-a-versary/Birthday!  She love to alter things so she asked that we alter an Altoid tin and link it up to her blog for this Wonderful 5 year celebration she has going on!!!  So I love to alter things as well and of course I wanted to participate as I think Roni is a wonderful artist!

Now I do know that Roni is going to have a little something to give away and although I don't know exactly what it is I know that it is going to be wonderful!!!!  This hop is going to be amazing just to see the diversity in the things people can do with Altoid tins!!

Now you all know me and my love for Halloween but coming in a very close almost tied 2nd is Christmas and on top of that is SNOWMEN!!!!  I love me some cute little snowmen!!!  So I wanted to make a winter scene with my altoid tin not to mention I received this wonderful little picket fence from AlteredPages.com that I had to use!!!!  So quite honestly this whole little altered tin came about because of a blog birthday and some tiny littly picket fence emphemera!!!  Who knew!  I hope you enjoy my little tin and leave me some love because you never know where the winner will come from and head over to InkStainswithRoni to see the rest and see what awesome prizes are available!!!

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Blog Hop

Greetings fellow Twi-hards! Tonight is the night! It is the release for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2! I cannot believe that the last movie is finally being released. Will you be at a premiere? I unfortunately will not be able to make the first showing but will be going first thing friday morning!!!
My friend and fellow Twi-Hard Alison decided that since this was the last movie, we needed to do one last Twilight hop. One more hurrah before it was all over. So, she asked some of her fellow Twi-friends to hop along with her. Happily, there were 6 gals that wanted to joined. So there are 7 awesome stops in this Blog Hop. And we all made some fabulous, Twilight inspired projects! Here's what I came up with.
This is the front of my tag.  I used some digi papers from a Twilight themed digi set.  I am sorry I can't remember where it came from it was a freebie I got a long long long time ago when on a DT. The words were printed off of my computer as well as the images I found for free online.  The chess piece is popped up in a double layer.  I sprayed it with some red and black dylusions and then once everything was said and done, I thought, SPARKLE so there is some pearl glimmer mists over everything!!! Of course I had to give all the books their spotlight on this tag as it is the books that I am in love with... Ok honestly I never read one single book until I saw the first movie with my daughter... once she explained to me that the book had so much more info in it I read them... all four in one weekend... Thanksgiving weekend when Twilight first came out!  I was hooked... I can't tell you how many times I have read them.  My son will see me reading and say AGAIN mom!!!  And I just look up and say yep and keep reading!!! LOL

Close up of the top of the front.  See some of the shimmer...

Bottom close up!  more glimmer and "blood"!

The back is covered with a scanned in book page.  It's the last page of breaking dawn and I thought it fitting that I use the last page of the last book for the last movie!!!  The images are some printed off the computer then I used Tim Holtz Fragments on them and adhered them to the tag after tying them with some embroidery thread.  The tag ready Yes! I am one of those TWILIGHT  people.  The book page is also sprayed with black and red dylusions and pearl glimmer mist.

Now as I said there are 7 stops on this hop and if you are starting here I would greatly appreciate it if you would head over to the beginning and leave all the blogger some much deserved love about their projects!!!

Here is the Hop List:

Day 5 of 31 and Altered Pages Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies, today is a wonderfully spectacular day!!!  Are you enjoying 31 Days so far?  Aren't all the projects wonderful!!!  There are some wickedly talented peeps this year!!!

Today is a little different here on my blog.  One of my design teams is having it's own little halloween blog hop so as always the 31 days list is on the sidebar and the rules for that are posted with day 1 and you can find them at Terra's blog as well.

To qualify for the prizes from the AlteredPages blog hop, which is totally separate from the 31 days blog hop although I am using the same project for both.  Here are the rules for winning the AlteredPages hop prizes!:

There will be One grand prize winner will receive a scissor mouse from AP. There will be two winners from each blog that will receive a free digital collage sheet. To be eligible for that the hoppers must leave a comment on each blog & become a follower of each blog. To be a winner they must finish the hop and go back to AP's blog and let us know they did. They must, also, leave a comment and follow every blog.
This is a huge bottle cap that my wonderful friend Alison sent me a long time ago.  The image is from AlteredPages.com the Altered halloween collage sheet. The chain is from a key ring thingy and the small gears are some that I had sitting around from taking apart old clocks and watches!

Everything is covered with Glossy accents. The glitter in the background was a oops... It was supposed to be off white embossing powder but I grabbed the glittery one instead....

This is the background stamp I used with the glitter above...wouldn't that have been wonderful in off white on the background????  Why didn't I redo it you say...well simple, I had no more ink in either printer!  :((
Remember to leave some love no matter which hop you are from and  I would greatly appreciate it if when leaving a comment you let me know if you are here for S&S or AP!    There are some awesome prizes to be won from either hop!!!Thank you so very much!!!

Bombshell Blog Hop

Hello Lovelies, welcome to this months version of the Bombshell Blog hop!!!  This month Ms. Alison has set our theme to be all about the boys!!!  “Let’s hear it for the boys” to be exact!  Now you can interpret this as you wish, I wanted to take this opportunity to make it all be about my son as I am frequently posting about my daughter!!!

So also to go along with the August Pin-Up theme of scrapbooking I decided to make a page about my baby boy since I made one for my baby girl a couple of weeks ago.  Now most of you know that I do not scrapbook and when I do it is mostly digital so of course that is what this is!  I used the Bombshell digital stamp sets, Western 1 and Western 2 for this page.  It is a quite simple page but I tend to like those better for some reason!!!  Anyway this is a huge hop and I don’t want to keep you to long as we have some wonderful bloggers this month!!!  It was wonderful to see so many former DT members hopping with us this month, I hope they continue!!!

Here is my project all about my boy Hunter….Keep in mind my “baby” is 13 almost 14!!!

Untitled-1
Now head on over to see what everyone else has made and if you didn’t start at the bombshell blog then please go there and start this wonderful journey!!!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop!!!

Hello Lovelies, it is time for the Bombshell Hump Day hop and this month our Hump Day Hottie Alison has decreed that we pay homage to Bettie Page!  The ultimate Bombshell!  Here is what Ms. Alison had to say about the hop this month!

Greetings Bombshell Fans! I am so excited about April's blog hop. I know, I know...I say that for all of the hops...but this month, I think it's going to really be a killer hop!
On April 22, 1923, a star was born. A star that we all know. A star that, without her, Bombshell Stamps may not even exist (if I may be so presumptuous). Who is it? None other than Bettie Page. What better month to pay homage to the Pin-Up Queen herself than the month of her birth? So for this hop, I want you to give Ms. Page some love. Make a project, any type of project, using her as inspiration. There are thousands of images to view, lots of quotes she has said, and others have said about her. Want some inspiration right now?

This is Bettie Page's official site: http://www.bettiepage.com/index.html

I would have loved to have been able to photograph her!
Anyway here is my card that I made inspired by the top photo.
002
I love the Cherry Bomb set from Bombshell there is just something about the way she is sitting that I love!  I used the Smeared and Smudged card sketch for this month as my layout for this card.  I hope you enjoy and remember to hop and see what everyone else has made and leave everyone some love for your chance at some awesome prizes this month!

You all know I LOVE LOVE LOVE Alice in wonderland so I was super stoked when I got this image and I bet you all know which set I will be getting first!!!  LOL  Anyway, I printed out my image and colored it with my copic markers.  I kind of modeled it after the Alice game colors.  I LOVE that game! Anyway, the patterned paper is by G45…Halloween in Wonderland!  The saying is what the Hatter(Johnny Depp) says to Alice in the latest Alice Remake(2010)
Here is a close-up of the Hat…

There will be a prize for a randomly selected commenter! One person will win 2 of the new images (Pam's choice), so they need to comment on everyone's blog to enter to win. (Pam will post the winner in a couple of days.)

Skull appreciation day Blog Hop with Smeared Ink.

Hello lovelies! If you happened upon this post just by visiting my blog, thank you very much. If you want to participate in the Skull Appreciation Day blog hop, please start your hop here. If you are following the SAD hop, you should have come from Alison’s blog. My name is Jewel, and I am cajunstampingqueen’s daughter. A few days ago she told me about the Skull Appreciation day blog hop and I wanted to contribute my artwork into the hop as well! I started out with one painting, but in the end I wound up with two!
The first painting I did was a skull that I sketched out on a canvas. He has flowers and flower veins coming out of his eyes and head. He is silver and sparkly, plus he has an awesome smile. At first, I wasn’t too happy with this guy but with the help of my wonderful and creatively fantastic mom, she helped me find the beauty in what I tried to make in the beginning. IMG_0230
During the time that I wasn’t so confident with the first painting, however,  I started working on another one. He is a pink sugar skull, and he believes  that he is the king of everything! He wears a massive silver crown on top of his pink head! He is surrounded by  cut-out flowers in an assortment of colors, and he is very bright and festive.
 IMG_0227
My mom made a fantastic project! It’s so awesome that I would love it if she made me one as well! She used safety pins, silver wire, a few beads and skull heads and turned them all into one bracelet! It’s silver and gray, and the skull heads are little charms. They’re extremely charming if I do say so myself!
 IMG_0239IMG_0238IMG_0237
Her bracelet was also made for the Junk Funk challenge on the Smeared and Smudged forum.
Thanks for stopping by my mom’s blog, she and I really appreciate you. Leave us some love!!!! We have some wonderful sponsors today; Smeared Ink, Strange Skin, Delicious Doodles, Bringing up Salamanders, Black Dragon, Creepy Glowbugg Creations, Scentsy, and others. Now hop on over to see what Jane has made for you today!

Simply Betty Smeared and Smudged Style

Hello Lovelies, Today my Smeared Ink DT friends and I are having a blog hop featuring one of this months sponsors Simply Betty.  Betty and a couple of her DT girls are joining us for this hop as well! Betty offered out DT some free digi images of her Zombie Teens or Summber Zombie Teens.  I chose to get the Christian Zombie teen, but couldn't resist sneaking back over and purchasing a couple of the summer zombies as well!!!!  I love those zombies!!!!  Anyway, Simply Betty is sponsoring a couple of the challenges over on Smeared and Smudged so if you want some wonderful digi images from her you better come on over there and play!!!

So as I said I chose the regular Zombie teen Christian and for some reason I love this dude.  I also have a couple of rubber Christian images as well as a few other digi images of him.... there is just something about this image that reminds me of my son....maybe its the personality that comes out of his eyes when I look at him... who knows.  Anyway I have him and I couldn't wait to play because the first thing that popped into my head wasn't the fact that he was carrying his head in his hands, it was the look in his eyes that said, My mom is gonna kill me for ripping my brand new jeans!!!!!!  Maybe that is just my wicked sense of humor coming out who knows... I am sure his mom would be just as upset about his head falling off, you know blood on the carpet and all, but who knows... depends on how much the jeans cost.!

So here is my project, it is my take on the sketch challenge on Smeared and Smudged! Like my good friend Lady Brayton said, not all scrapbook pages need pictures...I think the image is wonderful and should be the focal point!

So leave me some love then continue on with your hop... If you started with me make sure to go back to the top of the list and see what everyone has made....

Kelli That's Me!
