Doodles Paper Playground Blog Hop

We have custody of the married couple this year!  Lol. We alternate years with my Daughter Jewel’s (Mary) in-laws.  This year we have them thanksgiving and Christmas Eve and they have Christmas Day, next year it will reverse!  I look forward to the years we have them both holidays, although they do only live a couple of miles away from us and we have weekly family dinners, I am just selfish and want all my kiddos with me all the time!  Especially since they are all adults now!

Anyway, this year we have them for Thanksgiving Day and I’m not sure yet if anyone else is coming.  We are waiting to hear from my Mother-in-law will be able to come after therapy.  So there could be up to 8 more!!  I’ll make place cards as I need them, they are super fun and easy to make!

My background paper is made on a 4x6 index card using distress inks and stamped with archival ink. I am obsessed with this color combo as of late.  It is mustard seed, spiced marmalade, and aged mahogany.  I think they make a fabulous fall background! I cut the background paper into 2x4 strips and added them to a piece of card stock cut 2 1/4 x 8 1/2, and scored at 4 1/4.  I then took some letter stickers from the October kit from white rose crafts (who is also the exclusive retail shop for sparkle blends) to spell out our names and then added some word and circle stickers..  I then placed sequins from the Gingerbread man sparkle blend pack and here ya go!  Quick and easy place cards!!  I hope you are having fun on this hop and remember to leave everyone some love!!

WWATC Fall Fairies

Hey guys, thanks for going on a decorating journey with me this month!  I greatly appreciate you!!  My house is all decorated and I am loving it, but quite honestly I can't wait to start decorating for winter!!!!!  Just wait until December!!!  BWAHAHAHAHAHA


Here is the walk through!!!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you are in the US and if not, have a wonderful day/weekend!!!  I am off to spend time with my loves!!!

This is the dining room table!  I got the little white pumpkins at the dollar store along with the bowls.  The chargers from Michael's, black because it goes with everything in my opinion.  The plates came from Walmart a million years ago, but they always have something!!!  The runner from TJMaxx!

Close up!  There are only 4 place settings even though I have 5 now but 2 won't be with us so the empty place setting is in remembrance of those that can't join us. For whatever reason that may be!!

Yes, Virginia, those are Longaberger baskets!!!  I know I know some would think it was crazy but hey at least I am using them, and can you believe the great flowers that come from the dollar store???

This is the buffet also in the dining room, with my little wooden guys, and I have more to paint now!!!  I am really loving getting back into what got me crafting in the first place, making decorations with my mom and sister!!! 

Front door, not much going on out there but the wind is crazy here this time of year!!!  I have rocks in the bottom of the pumpkins just so they won't fly away!!!!

Center Piece

Today is my final craft, my center piece!!! This is actually the first thing I have to get me in the mood to start decorating again!!!!  Ok now if you are a longaberger basket  purist please leave my blog now...  If you are a longaberger basket lover and don't mind them being altered then stay with me, if you have no idea what longaberger is then you are safe!!!  LOL  I started collecting baskets years ago, like lots and lots of years ago!!!anyway for a long time they just sat on top of my cabinets collecting dust, and whatever else decided to go up there, then during the preparations for the move they went into a box because clutter, even after we moved here they didn't come out of their box because this rental house has nowhere for me to use them....  soooooooooo I decided to use them for a centerpiece....  that being said this centerpiece involves hot glue, now you know why you need to leave if you are a purist.   Yes I did it, I hot glued longaberger baskets together to make a flower centerpiece!!!  Here it is, i will have more pictures on the final showing soon!!

you can barely see the third basket in the middle because of all the flowers but it is there, 3 longaberger baskets hot glued together with dollar store flowers and pumpkins!!!  Hey at least they are being used!!!! 

Wreaths and flower arrangements for outside

Yep, the title says it all, I have made a new wreath with the same things I used to make the garland and then I got some of the foam pumpkins, the smallest was from Michael's with a coupon of course, and the other two were from Walmart and still cost less than the one I got with the coupon!!  Oh well, they all worked out...  and Believe it or not all of the flowers came from the dollar store!!!

Here is the wreath, I  added some grapevine pumpkins to it to give it a little interest!  I will have a final post to show you where I put everything and how it looks all decorated in a few days!

Now on to the flower arrangement in pumpkins!  I have 3 different sizes of them, you will see all three when I have the final showing!

Scarecrows and Turkeys Oh My!

More fall decorations for you today!!!  I think these are so cute, I just love them!  I find that painting is therapy for me!!  and it doesn't always have to be something extravagant!!

These are simple wood pieces that I got at my local wood creations shop!

Fall Bannister Garland

Hey guys, so this is a first, not that I have stairs in a house but that I have this open space that just screams for decorations!!!  These stairs lead down to the finished basement that houses my craft area...  I don't say room because I have grown out of one room, ok well maybe not outgrown it but I have spread out into multiple rooms because honestly they aren't being used at the moment...  When we have guests I will clean them up and let the guests have them but right now they are all mine!   Except of course my daughter room... Her room is set up for when she and the son-in-love come to visit!!! 

So I thought this space needed some garland and I had some mesh and some ribbon and found this work garland at Hobby Lobby.  So you cut the garland into semi squares, I say semi squares cause I didn't measure anything...  I just eyeballed everything! 

So I love being able to leave the ties from a work garland or wreath exposed, I think it adds to the finished project, and it's one less step I have to do!!  Sometimes I don't have the right color to be able to do that, and most of the time, I am using left over pipe cleaners that aren't the right color at all, but this time I did and I love it!!!

As most of you know, I have recently moved from the east coast to Idaho!  That in and of itself was quite daunting!  BUT,,,, somewhere along the way with the purging of the house to get it on the market and the moving, I lost some mojo and some decorations!!!  Somehow all my fall decorations disappeared!!  I don't know if they accidentally got added to one of the 10 goodwill trips, or what but they are gone.  So instead of going out and purchasing all new stuff I made a lot of things and am still making a lot of things!  

Here is the first thing I made, when I saw this patterned paper I had to have it and then I had this ugly pumpkin I got from the dollar general store and I didn't want to put it out but what choice did I have?  Until I decided to put them together!!!  This is the cute result of that, along with some old book paper!

Dilly Beans Challenge

Hello Lovelies, I have decided to make Sunday's Dilly Beans Challenge day!  I did it through 31 days and it was fun so I am going to keep on doing it!  This weeks challenge is Fall Colors and I am using an image called #488-Mimi & Sarah's Pumpkins Framed!  Such a cute little image!!

  

I colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers: DG1, 2, and 4, FS2,3, and 9, TN2,3, and 8, BT 1,2,3,4,5,and 6, EB3,5,and 8 and GB10.  My patterned papers are from the Harvest Delight paper pack by Recollections!  I hope you enjoy!!

Just Some Lines Fall/Autumn challenge

Hello Lovelies, I am here today with my first creation for my new DT and our first challenge after a summer break!!  I am super excited about this DT as the images are really different that I normally use and that makes me HAPPY!!!

I am using two JSL images for my card today, Butterfly Bear and Mushroom!

I colored the images with my Spectrum Noir markers added some patterned paper and a couple of colors of cardstock and there you have it a cute little fall card! 

Butterfly Bear:  Fur- GB10, GB8. EB2, EB1, FS3, FS2, PP3, and FS6

Tutu- CR10, OR1, and GB5

Bodice- GB5, CT4, CT3, and TN2

Mushroom: GB5, OR1, PL2, PL1, EB8, EB7, BG10, BG8, BG6, BG4, DG4, DG3, DG2, CT4, and CT3.

Falling Leaves

Hello Lovelies, today I have to share with you a wonderful little fall card I made for the new Dilly Beans challenge and the DigiStamps4joy.

The Dilly Beans challenge is Fall and the DigiStamps4Joy challenge is All the leaves are brown, you have to use leaves as embellies.  Well i didn't have any so I made some.. I have been playing with shrinky dinks lately and so I embossed them and then colored them with alcohol inks.  My image is from Dilly Beans and I love her....and the pumpkins too!!!

Autumn!!!

Hello Lovelies,  Do you know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE autumn/fall!!!  Let's just say A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT!!!!!!  The smells, the cool, crisp air, the colors...EVERYTHING!!!  So this weeks challenge over at Dilly Beans Autumn Colors is totally for me...not to mention a nice break from making all the Halloween projects I have been working on for 31 days!!!  Anyway, I took the time out to make this lovely little card in Autumn colors because she is probably my favorite Dilly image so far.... Now don't get me wrong I like them all but there is something about her that makes her the favorite of the moment!!! 

 

Isn't she wonderful?!?!?!?!  Her name is Lila and she is colored with prismacolor pencils then matted on some fall patterened paper called Falling Foliage from the Shades of Autumn collection from Moxxie.  Then placed on some close to cocoa cardstock from Stampin Up... I think she turned out great and the leaves have that color changing quality going on, where if you look at them long enough they to will change into some wonderful rich colors!!!  At least in my opinion!!! LOL
