Release day 2!

The Dolls not only have 3 more Wickidz images to share with you, but we also have a set of 12 coordinating sentiments to go along with them! And, these sentiments(which you can see on the BTBD blog) will be great not only for this set, but for many, many other images you probably already own!
Alison drew a winner from yesterday's comments...the winner of the Malice digi is....Trudie!!! Congratulations! Please email Betty Boo (simplybstamps at yahoo dot com) for your prize! We will have another little contest today as well. One lucky commenter will win the Boris image. But you've got to leave some love on everyone's blog in order to try to win him! I will announce the winner tomorrow. So without any further adieu, here are the rest of the Wickidz!

And as promised here is the whole book!!! Well the whole page rather than the little snippets!
All the envelopes open on the back and the whole book ties together with a string.  Malice is my front cover and I have decided to leave the back blank for now!!!  That might not last long!

We hope you have enjoyed this release! Now scoot on over to the SBS Shop to pick up the Wickidz for yourself. But please visit the Dolls' blogs as well, to get the inside scoop on their awesome creations. We would like to say a huge Thank You to Jenn for being our very special GDT for this release. Jenn, your projects all rocked, and it was awesome to have you hang with the Dolls! Have a creep-tastic day!

New Release…Meet the Wickidz!!!

Hello Lovelies! I have something very special for you today! It's a preview for the new Simply B Collection, the Wickidz. The Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls will be working with the darker side of SBS. So the creepier images, the darker stuff, will be released through us. Our releases will be the last 2 days of the month, though this time around, we are starting it a day early. Here are the first 3 Wickidz.

Now I know you are wondering what’s going on with my pictures and I promise you will see the complete images tomorrow after the next 3 images but If you know me at all you know that I have books of every shape and size stashed everywhere.  There is one in our truck, one in the hubbies mini, and one in my Kragon.  I am sure when we *gasp* get the girl a car there will be one in there too!!!  Anyway I have them for all kinds of reasons, I’ll have an idea and write it on a receipt and then stick it in the book or grab the book while I am not driving and sketch something out that pops into my head!  It really freaks my daughter out when she’s driving when I just turn around in the seat to reach my book cause I am talking to myself about how something should look!!!  LOL  sometimes I do it on purpose!!!  I know I am evil!!!  Anyway this time I wanted to make an envelope book because I got them a while ago for a steal!  This way I just stuff the envelopes until they are full and then empty them and start over.  This one is going in my purse!!!
I hope you enjoy and come back tomorrow to see the whole book!  I think it’s pretty awesome!

So what do you think of these creepy kidz??? We will have 3 more to share with you tomorrow, including a collection of sentiments to go along with them! All of the images and sentiments will be available for purchase tomorrow! They will be available only in digi form, which I know will make many of you very happy. Couldn't you just see these images blown up really big? I know I can!

So, how would you like to win one of these Wickidz for yourself? One lucky commenter will win the Malice digi! Be sure to visit every blog, because you won't know who's blog has the prize! I will announce the winner tomorrow We Dolls will see you tomorrow, but for now, why not visit our blogs for all the deets on our projects? Have a creep-tastic day!

Ghosting Technique for Art Journaling

Hello loves, I recently saw this technique called Ghosting and couldn’t wait to play with it!  Then I thought why not use song lyrics from my favorite artist Florence and the Machine… So I got out my sharpies and started writing…. Then the art journaling prompt on Smeared and Smudged was lyrics a couple of weeks ago(it’s ok you didn’t miss it you can play with them anytime you want!)

So here is my background process… I haven’t completed the page yet cause it hasn’t come to me completely but I did want to show you the process of which I got the background!!

So please try this technique when you have something to say that you aren’t quite ready to share with anyone or when you just want something there that is totally cool!!

Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge

Hello lovelies, today I have to share with a new challenge from the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls!  This time we challenge you to Goth up those cuties!!  Take those sugary sweet images and make them go Goth!  Oh and there is another catch!  The item you use your image on can NOT be a card or layout!!  So alter something peoples!!!  You know you love altering things!
I have all these little notebooks laying around that I would pick up at the $ spot or most of the time on clearance from the $ spot and get two or three for $… anyway, here they are sitting in a drawer waiting for me to pick one and do something with it.  This week I decided to take one and alter the cover so that I could start using it for color combinations that I like.  I mean yes I pin them on pintrest but I need something that is right there and I can’t always have the laptop in the creative dungeon with me!  Anyway I started the cover and added my Goth(ed) up image to it because I used my favorite color combo of the moment on the image!  This is a color combo that Alison set for the Bombshell hop this month and you still have time to sign up for it if you go to the Bombshell forum!!

ok so here is the front of my mini notebook:
here is the back:

Bombshell Tutorial

Hello again lovelies, please remember to look at my other post today!  It’s Friday which means one lucky Bombshell gets to give you a tutorial/technique!  Today it’s me!!!  WOOO to the HOO!!

So as you all know I am a Pintrest addict, I admit it, and even if there were a 12 step program for it I am not sure I would attend it!!!  Anyway so the other day I am scrolling through and see these wine glasses with tealight candles in them and a lamp shade on it!  I think, huh, that’s pretty cool that would be awesome to do for an outside patio party, or a nice dinner where you just want to set the mood, you know or a way to use the 750 million wine/drink glasses you have because when you got married your sisters husband was an engineer at Libby glass and she took you shopping with his discount for one of your wedding presents!!!  Just sayin, I love my sister!!!!  :)  Anyway I digress, so I click on this pin to see what it’s all about and it is an advertisement for you to buy 10 of these little lamp shades for $15!!!!  I am not even gonna share the pin with you because that is just crazy talk right there!!  So I think ok I’m gonna google wine glass lamp shades to see if someone other than me tought it was redonkulous to spend that much money on something that I could make for ummmmmmm FREE!!!!!  Yep free, you know we all have stamp sets, we all have printer paper, we all have scissors, glue, and Vellum.  So anyway I google and come across several but they were all adapting real lamp shade to fit and that is all fine and dadny but not what I wanted.  So long story short I finally found a template here

Ok so on with the TUT!
Now quite honestly it took me 15 minutes after printing out the template to make both of these…I would suggest it you don’t want to worry about burn marks or soot marks that you use one of those battery powered tea lights.  I just can’t find mine right now!  I hope you enjoy!!!

Forever Night Challenge #31

Hello Lovelies,  It’s Friday again which means…. Forever Night Challenge is new!!!  This week I decided to play along with Team A.  Now you all know how much I love Harry Potter and this week team A got to play with Tickled Pink Stamps version of HP, called Lil Haunts, so how could I pass that up!  I mean come on!!! Our challenge this week was to use some bling somewhere on our project…..ok easy enough…  I chose to work with Wizard Eric.  I love him!

I made a tag, with a wicked cool background that I just learned that I will be doing a tut on soon!  Anyway I printed him out and colored him with my copics.  Added bling in the form of stickles to his staff, cause quite honestly who doesn’t want a sparkly staff!!!  Just sayin!  Winking smile  I used some stickers that I had gotten last summer as well.  Let me know what you think!

Alter It

Hey Hey everyone!  We are back and know what were doing now!!! LOL  The Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge blog is up and going!  We are now a bi-weekly challenge and our first one is today!  Those who enter will be put into an random drawing to be our GDT next month!  Awesome!!!

This weeks challenge is to Alter it.  What is it?  What ever you want it to be!!!  Just alter something!!!

My daughters best friend has a birthday coming up and I wanted to make her something.  My daughter is totally into smash books and art journaling so we thought it would be a good idea to make her friend her very own smash book/art journal.  Her friend is  very artistic on her own so we didn’t want to fill every page for her we wanted to let her do it on her own.  I made a cover and decorated the back adding a few things here and there in the book.
here is the front of the book before I altered it!

this is the front cover after I altered it…

here are the first couple of pages done for her… just to give her something to have right away!

here’s the back cover….

Then I thought well now wait, smash books/ junk journals/art journals are full of stuff so I decided to go through my stash and gather some things for her to work with…

I added some envelopes and pockets to several different pages for her to stash stuff in…

I may add more things to it before we give it to her but for right now I am gathering stash stuff for her to use.  I am thinking she will enjoy it!

Head on over to the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls blog and check out everything everyone else has made and see all the dirty details of the challenge!!!
