Simply Betty Smeared and Smudged Style

Hello Lovelies, Today my Smeared Ink DT friends and I are having a blog hop featuring one of this months sponsors Simply Betty.  Betty and a couple of her DT girls are joining us for this hop as well! Betty offered out DT some free digi images of her Zombie Teens or Summber Zombie Teens.  I chose to get the Christian Zombie teen, but couldn't resist sneaking back over and purchasing a couple of the summer zombies as well!!!!  I love those zombies!!!!  Anyway, Simply Betty is sponsoring a couple of the challenges over on Smeared and Smudged so if you want some wonderful digi images from her you better come on over there and play!!!

So as I said I chose the regular Zombie teen Christian and for some reason I love this dude.  I also have a couple of rubber Christian images as well as a few other digi images of him.... there is just something about this image that reminds me of my son....maybe its the personality that comes out of his eyes when I look at him... who knows.  Anyway I have him and I couldn't wait to play because the first thing that popped into my head wasn't the fact that he was carrying his head in his hands, it was the look in his eyes that said, My mom is gonna kill me for ripping my brand new jeans!!!!!!  Maybe that is just my wicked sense of humor coming out who knows... I am sure his mom would be just as upset about his head falling off, you know blood on the carpet and all, but who knows... depends on how much the jeans cost.!

So here is my project, it is my take on the sketch challenge on Smeared and Smudged! Like my good friend Lady Brayton said, not all scrapbook pages need pictures...I think the image is wonderful and should be the focal point!

So leave me some love then continue on with your hop... If you started with me make sure to go back to the top of the list and see what everyone has made....

Bombshell Sketch April

Hello lovelies, I hope today finds you doing well!!!  I have to share with you today a card I made slightly following the Bombshell Sketch challenge for April!!  I have also added it to the Bombshell Blog so be sure to head over there to check out all the other DT creations!!!

I know I am a latergator but it was necessary in my mind!!!   I had a card in the makes the first week of April, and by the time it was done I decided that I didn't like it and wasn't going to show it!!!  No matter what I tweaked on it or added to it I could not bring myself to like it.... So I scrapped it and said I will wait for my new sets to get here..... WELL...  I forgot to remind Shannon that I moved, she forgot I moved and sent them to the old addy, luckily the tenant we have there refused them so they went back to Shannon and then out to me!!!  Poor stamps have been from one coast to the other and back again!!!!  They were tired when they got here, but oh so ready to be inked(they told me so!!)So I inked them up and make 2 projects in 2 days!!! Nothing like new rubber to give inspiration!!!  Anyway, here is the sketch card I made using Rose's portrait:
So as you can see it's not quite the sketch that Kathi made but I think sketches are guideline to give inspiration anyway!!!

Challenges I entered:
Pile It On - use a rubber stamp
Drunken Stampers - don’t use any tools that uses electricity
Art Impressions Stamps - Anything Goes
Aud Sentiments - #26 Anything Goes
Pixie Dust Studio - Say It Out Loud, include a sentiment
Anita Be Stampin' #16 - Anything Goes
Make it Monday #32 - Anything Goes

Delicious Doodles Blog Hop Smeared and smudged Style!!!

Hello lovelies,

Today we are having a wonderful hop!  Teri over at Delicious doodles is one of our sponsors this month over on Smeared and Smudged and offered the DT some wonderful images from her shop!!! I chose the Skeletal Candle Holder image.  Why you may ask, it's not Halloween you say, well why can't Halloween be everyday I ask, and I say to you one I love candles, two I love skulls, and three why not get something that has both!!!!!  When I started working on my card for this hop I knew I wanted to do something very basic with my image.  So I just sponged Antique Linen Distress ink all over it, then I set it aside because something just wasn't right with it to me.  I mean if is so beautifully drawn that it doesn't need me to change it much.  so I'm sitting here looking at it and think OK I need to add some color so I just reach over into my marker bin and pick the first one that touches my fingers, pull it out and there is orange.  I use orange as a highlight/color pop here and there and call it good.  Then I start searching for patterned paper to use that will go with it.  All the while thinking what am I going to make this look like.  Then I'm like DOH  you have a card sketch silly so there ya go.  A double dipper for the DD hop and the S & S card sketch challenge.  Yeah sorry for rambling there.....

Anyway I put the card together and it's sitting there waiting for it's glamour shots appointment and I start thinking,  I wonder why the color orange picked this project.  What does the color orange mean.... so I googled it... here is what I found.   It's the 3rd one down on the google page, cause 3 is a good number...

'Orange is a colour which is formed by mixing red and yellow. It is a colour which symbolizes energy, zest, enthusiasm and creativity. One who wears orange is known to be someone who loves to experiment. Orange is also an appetite stimulant.

The colour orange signifies an open-minded approach. It gives vibes of friendship, fun and informality. Sexually speaking, the colour orange signifies passion and foreplay, an adjunct to the colour red which signifies erotica. If red is the colour of passion, then orange is known to be the 'igniter' of passion. The colour orange certainly draws attention as being liberal and unconventional. It is also known to be an immune booster. No wonder, one sees tonics, sexual stimulants and immunity boosting medicines sold usually in orange coloured packs.'

Now I know why it picked me and my project, it knew I needed energy and creativity!!!

Here is the hop list!  Please head on over and see what everyone has made!!!  IT's FUN!!!!

Ingredients List:
Image= Skeletal Candle Holder
Cardstock= Stampin up Bacis Gray and Vanilla
Patterned papers = Pink Paislee (Twilight Collection) and Basic Grey(eerie/zombie)
orange copic
Antique linen distress ink

Snow Bunnies and Sketches????

Are you scratching your head yet?  If so then I have done my job for the day!!!  LOL  No really, January is a very busy month.  My hubby is retiring from the Navy, starting a new job, and moving into a new town!!!  Not only are we moving we are moving on the 17th!!!!  So my life for the past couple of days has been...Pack a box, clean a space, pack a box, clean a space, stamp a project, pack a box, clean a space, color a project, pack a box, eat, clean a space, fall down in the computer chair, finish a project, then veg on the couch until the hubby wakes me up and says time for bed!!!!!

So this month I have found myself having to multi task on projects.  For this project I combined the lovely sketch that Kathi made for us and the wonderful challenge from Ms. January!!!

Ms. January's challenge is all about Snow Bunnies!  You can find more information about that here!!  Ms. Kathi always gives us wonderful sketches and I love to play with them!!  You can find the sketch here!!

Now here is my project...

I used Bombshell set A Pirates Life and colored her with my icy blue copics.  Then ya know every bunny has to have some bling so I gave mine some bling with Picket Fence stickles.  I started with Baxxill Basics cardstock then layered decorative paper from Heidi Grace Designs (frosted blvd./crystal snow), another layer of cardstock, this time SU. and then my wonderful Pirate Bombshell.  Well I think she is wonderful.  I finished the card off with some ribbon I got from Michaels umpteen years ago and the silver cord is from a lovely RAK my friend Blackdragon sent me!!!

To see more takes on the sketch and also more details on Ms. January head on over to the Bombshell Blog!

Thanks for Visiting.

On the 5th day of Christmas...

Hello Lovelies, I hope your morning is a little warmer than my morning!!!!!  Today I have for you a card I created using Bombshell Stamps.  Now you all know that I don't stitch on my cards but something about this one just called for it.  Don't go thinking I hauled out my sewing machine for this one, cause you would be wrong, this card is hand stitched!!!  I started with some gray card stock as the base of my card.  Added some decorative paper and a piece of brown card stock and that is what I stitched together.  My pirate is colored with copics and the sentiment is printed out from the computer and then stitched onto brown card stock. This is also my interpertation of the Bombshell monthly sketch for December!  I'm not quite sure this is what Kathi had in mind when she made the sketch, but it's what my brain started screaming at me to make once we saw it!!!  You can find more detail on this months Bombhsell sketch here!  Also if you haven't already head on over to the Bombhsell blog and enter our follower contest!

Before you do that though, hop over to the side bar and see what all the other jolly bloggers have made for todays hope.  Then hop on over to Smeared and Smudged to see all the wonderful new contest for December!!!!!  Ok so here is my card....

This card will also be used for challenges issued by:
