Day 22 of 31

Hello lovelies, today I have for you another ATC I made using the $ spot inkadinkado stamps.  This little ATC has a special surprise! 

Isn’t that an awesome stamp?!  I used distress inks to color him, well not really color but make it so that it wasn’t white!  I used gathered twigs, and ripe persimmon.  Two of the new distress inks.  The patterned paper is also from echo park, I love that Apothecary Emporium collection!  Anyway, the ribbon is from Michaels.

The sentiment is also from inkadinkado!  Isn’t that cool!!!  The background is colored with distress inks, gathered twigs, ripe persimmon, and seedless preserves!   Thanks for looking! Remember to go and see what everyone else has made for you today!!! 

Day 19 of 31

Hello Lovelies,   I have for you today a card I made for Day of the Dead and also for the Bombshell Pin Up challenge.  This month our Pin Up challenged us to use pink in our cards in honor of  Breast Cancer Awareness month!  Now using pink is no problem for me anymore, I used to have a hard time using it but not anymore.  BUT using pink in 31 days!!!  That made me stop in my tracks for a minute!  Then I thought I’ll use the Alter Skulls set from Bombshell stamps!  So that’s what I did… Now the layout of this card is a little different for me and I’ll be honest with you, I started this off with making an ATC in mind.  Paying no attention to details in the beginning I neglected to realize that the Alter skull was bigger than an ATC!!! So card it is!!!  I used vanilla cardstock and craft cardstock that was smeared and smudged(LOL) with distress inks!   Gathered twigs, tattered rose, and seedless preserves. I wrinkled the original ATC size piece and then mounted it on other cardstock!  Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!  Please head on over to the Bombshell blog  to see what everyone else has made for you today!!!

Hello lovelies, today I have for you a double post in one. Not only is it Bombshell sketch challenge day over on the bombshell blog, but it is also the start of Forever Night Challenge blogs 3 day blog hop!!
First of all the Bombshell sketch….

This is the wonderful sketch Ms. Kathi made for us this month! Here is my take on the sketch…

The other day I was having a Pumpkin Spice Latte and I thought, I wonder what a Pumpkin Spice Martini would taste like! So that led to this card! I used the Man’s Ruin stamp set. Kraft cardstock and Halloween patterned paper from My Minds Eye called Haunted. It’s pretty all the paper in this pad is printed on kraft! I LOVE IT! Stickles on the glass cause every martini needs a sparkly glass!!! The background is kraft paper smeared with the new Limited edition distress inks from ranger! I LOVE THEM!!! I hand wrote the name of the drink cause it just needed it!!

Day 2 of 31

Hello Lovelies, today I have to share with you are some tags that I made for a tag swap.  I recently joined a new yahoo group called All Things Tim… and as you may have guessed from the name this is a group for people who love Tim Holtz.. his techniques, products, you name it, if its Tim it’s all good!  So my first swap with them was a 13 Tags of Halloween swap.  So I used some of the techniques for the background with my distress inks.  It’s kinda simple really but I had to make a lot of them!!!  I know that’s no excuse but I am happy with them!!

Smeared and Smudged Member Hop

Hello lovelies and welcome to this months version of the S&S member hop.  This month we were set to use the colos brown and green, any shade of either color.  Pretty simple right!  I love color combo challenges, because I always(well almost always) try to  use the most opposite of those colors I can!  Not today though, today I decided to make something that wasn't out of the norm.  When you first see it, you will think, now that's not the Kelli I know and love!!!  What the hell is she doing with that flower!!!  BUT upon closer look you will notice that I took that lovely flower and grunged it up!!!

Hello Lovelies, Welcome back to day 24.  If you joined me yesterday for my Tea Party, thank you so very much for coming.  If not, you missed out!  Just sayin.!!!  Since yesterday's post was quite long today's will be short and to the point. 

Today I offer you an ATC featuring the Quoth the Raven Stamp set from Smeared Ink. 

There was really no coloring involved...all the color seen is done using distress inks and sponges.  The skull in stamped with Memento Ink, tuxedo black, and the wings and Nevermore are stamped with Versafine Ink, Onyx Black.

Smeared and Smudged Member Blog Hop

Hello lovelies, it's time for the Smeared and Smudged Member blog hop.  So this month we decided to keep it simple, well that's what we thought anyway. Here is what we decided... " This time our theme will be: Orange. Incorporate the color orange into your project, or make an all orange project."  Sounds simple really, right?  Well for those of us(like me) who don't use orange in our normal day to day project making it could turn out to be quite a challenge.  It's not that I have anything against orange, I don't, I really like the color, it's just not something I think to pick up when I go to coloring on my images.  So here is what I came up with.  I used the Carnies set from Smeared Ink. 

Card Deets:

It's an easel card!  I have just recently found these cards, I know I am probably the last person in the stamping world to make one, but they are totally cool.  I used Stampin Up whisper white, only orange and basic gray cardstock.  Memento Tuxedo black ink andRanger procucts distress ink in Marmalade.  I colored her with my copic markers, E21, YR07, C-3 and C-7.

Greeting Farm Blog Hop S&S style

Hello my lovelies, I am so happy that you have joined us today for the Greeting Farm blog hop Smeared and Smudged Style! I want to send out a big major thank you to the Greeting Farm for allowing us to use their images.  They are awesome! We were given the opportunity to pick which image we wanted to play with and I picked an image called Royal Pain.  She is so freaking cute it's not even funny, but of course those of you who know me know I don't do cutesy sooooooo, I guess you could say I did pain in my ass teenage "cute" if there is such a thing.  Let's just say I modeled her after my daughter, her favorite colors, favorite hair colors out of all the ones she has had!!! I am pretty sure I even put some of her attitude into the picture!!  I am also using this card for the Smeard and Smudged Guest DT member challenge for June.  You can find it here.  I made my card using SU cardstock Taken with Teal and Whisper white.  Ms. Pain is stamped with memento on the white and colored with copics.(#'s E00, R29, YR07, 100, BG09)  I used the same color over and over to shade on this card!  Then I took another piece of white cardstock to make the background that she is "floating"on.  I used a watercolor technique with regular cardstock, water, and Tim Holtz distress reinkers Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, and Broken China.  I love the outcome.  Now honestly I have to admit that I stopped there and pop dotted Ms. Pain on the card and left her be.  Then when I came back I thought to myself, now why the hell would you show something like that!!!    I mean honestly it wasn't very pretty! BUTTTTTTTT for the life of me I couldn't figure out what else to do! So I took a picture of it and shot it off in a text to our lovely Ms Alison so she could help me get past my creators block!!!  And she did and I have to thank her very much cause she is so freaking awesome it isn't even funny!!!!!!!!!!   MWAH Ladybird!  She gave me the stickle swirly idea so that is what I did, I took the Tim Holtz distress stickles in Orange Peel, Broken China(I love love love this color), and Xmas Red and made little swirly's on the background!!!!  Love it!  I printed out the words Royal Pain and then added them to the top covering them with some Close to my Heart Liquid Glass! What do you think?

Soot Stamping Tutorial using Bombshell Stamps!

Hello my lovelies,  this month the montly Bombshell asked us to make a project without using patterned paper, or making our own! Here are the guidelines for the challenge!

"BABY GOT BACK" CONTEST GUIDELINES: (CONTEST ENDS APR. 30, 2010)

The creation can be a card, layout or altered item, but must:

1. use a Bombshell Stamp somewhere

2. incorporate a handmade background using bombshell stamps (no preprinted patterned papers)

3. post a photo of your creation in this thread!

The stamp set I chose to use is called Mans Ruin and you can find it at Bombshell Stamps. Now on to the tutorial!

Soot Stamping
Materials needed:
Glossy white cardstock
Candle
Stamp or stamps of your choice
Acrylic Sealer (not shown)
Dye Ink(optional)*

Brayer(optional)

Step 1: Light your candle!

Step 2: Take the cardstock, holding it by the edges. With glossy side down, wave the cardstock across the candle flame, until you get the look you desire!  BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF!!Do not touch the soot with your fingers as they will take to soot off of the paper and leave your fingerprints.

Step 3: Take your stamp or stamps and press image into soot. If using the same image more than once be sure to clean it after each use!**

Step 4: Spray with acrylic sealer after stamping is completed!

*I used Tim Holtz Fire Brick Red Distress Ink.

** I used a damp paper towel to stamp the image on after each use.

(optional) if you want a colored background...apply one or more dye inks with a brayer to the glossy side of the cardstock, then follow directions above.

Mama Said Knock You Out...Bombshell Style

No seriously, that's what she said! Well I guess she didn't mean to get violent this time though, at least thats what the lovely Inky Button says! Nope just time to dust off your PUNCHES and use your NESTIES (QuicKutz, Sizzix, Big Shot etc.) so that we could create our next Bombshell Masterpieces!!!

So here I am thinking about all the movie theater party pictures I have and the home movie nights we have so I thought, Picture Frame time! I used a wooden picture frame I got from Michael's for 75 cents and Bombshell sets Sugar Skulls and Alter Skulls to create this Fright Night Movie Night frame! I added gesso to the frame then when dried dry brushed with black acrylic paint, fire brick red, marmalade, and pine needle green distress reinkers from Ranger products.

Day 4...Halloween Trinket Box

Today I chose to make a trinket box for all the little goodies I want to keep for Halloween. I found these little boxes at Michael's a while ago when they were on clearence! This one was on clearence because one of the little screws on the clasp was missing so I scored with a 50 cent box!!!! I don't need no stinkin clasp! LOL For this one I painted it black and then used silver distressed crackle paint from Tim Holtz. I then stamped my images into clay, and after it baked and cooled I painted them. The witch on her broom I base coated in gray, then wiped off with a papertowel. Then brushed walnut ink stain over it and also wiped it off with a papertowel. Finally I brushed black paint on the high points. For the words, Witching you...a Haunting Halloween, I wanted to go darker with, so I used black and purple on them. So there it is my Halloween trinket box.

Golden Eye

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weekend. There is a challenge over on the Bombshell group on PCP for movies. There are some awesome creations over there already, you should check them out. I thought long and hard about which movie I wanted to work with and while browsing one day I saw this eye and though James Bond Golden Eye! So I printed out the eye I wanted and decided that I didn't just want a printed out eye so I used this product called Omni Gel over the paper. I love the effect that Omni Gel has. I also used the sexy lady from the Butterfly Queen set from Bombshell Stamps. The "dress" on the butterfly was colored with SU watercolor pencils, then used Ranger Ink Perfect Pearls in gold on her. I love the shimmery shiny effect they leave.

Well the longer I looked at this card the more I wasn't happy with it so I am adding a 2nd pic with the new and improved card. You can never have enough gold!!!!
