Ghosting Technique for Art Journaling

Hello loves, I recently saw this technique called Ghosting and couldn’t wait to play with it!  Then I thought why not use song lyrics from my favorite artist Florence and the Machine… So I got out my sharpies and started writing…. Then the art journaling prompt on Smeared and Smudged was lyrics a couple of weeks ago(it’s ok you didn’t miss it you can play with them anytime you want!)

So here is my background process… I haven’t completed the page yet cause it hasn’t come to me completely but I did want to show you the process of which I got the background!!

So please try this technique when you have something to say that you aren’t quite ready to share with anyone or when you just want something there that is totally cool!!

Bombshell Tutorial

Hello again lovelies, please remember to look at my other post today!  It’s Friday which means one lucky Bombshell gets to give you a tutorial/technique!  Today it’s me!!!  WOOO to the HOO!!

So as you all know I am a Pintrest addict, I admit it, and even if there were a 12 step program for it I am not sure I would attend it!!!  Anyway so the other day I am scrolling through and see these wine glasses with tealight candles in them and a lamp shade on it!  I think, huh, that’s pretty cool that would be awesome to do for an outside patio party, or a nice dinner where you just want to set the mood, you know or a way to use the 750 million wine/drink glasses you have because when you got married your sisters husband was an engineer at Libby glass and she took you shopping with his discount for one of your wedding presents!!!  Just sayin, I love my sister!!!!  :)  Anyway I digress, so I click on this pin to see what it’s all about and it is an advertisement for you to buy 10 of these little lamp shades for $15!!!!  I am not even gonna share the pin with you because that is just crazy talk right there!!  So I think ok I’m gonna google wine glass lamp shades to see if someone other than me tought it was redonkulous to spend that much money on something that I could make for ummmmmmm FREE!!!!!  Yep free, you know we all have stamp sets, we all have printer paper, we all have scissors, glue, and Vellum.  So anyway I google and come across several but they were all adapting real lamp shade to fit and that is all fine and dadny but not what I wanted.  So long story short I finally found a template here

Ok so on with the TUT!

Now quite honestly it took me 15 minutes after printing out the template to make both of these…I would suggest it you don’t want to worry about burn marks or soot marks that you use one of those battery powered tea lights.  I just can’t find mine right now!  I hope you enjoy!!!

Day 28 of 31

Hello lovelies, today I have for you another Forever Night Challenge and a Bombshell stamps tutorial!

 Yep another twofer!!!

Let’s start with Forever Night, this week our sponsor is Stitchy Bear. Our challenge is an embellishment challenge. Your challenge is to use a flower somewhere on your project! Now for most this is not hard, but although I like flowers and have started making them recently I don’t often just put them on a card!!! BUTTTTT I managed to do it just for you! LOL JK

Isn’t she a bad ass!!! I love her hair and her chains!!!

Now head on over to the Forever Night Challenge blog to see what everyone else has made for you and also to see about getting in on this challenge!!!
Also remember to finish your 31 days hop!!!

Now for the Bombshell Tutorial!

As I hinted at yesterday today I am going to show you how to make the flowers I made for LB’s wreath. There are other tutorials out there but I found, once I started, that they were wasting to much paper to get the perfect flower. If you want that perfect flower then by all means, square off your paper and go from there. I personally think that if they look a little wonky then it looks a little more home/handmade instead of store bought! Just my personal opinion though!

OK:
Material needed:
Stamps of choice, I used the skeleton from the digital set skully doll!
ink/or image printed from the computer
copy paper
old books, or if you have trouble tearing up books, some sort of thin paper.
hot glue( lots and lots of hot glue!!! I went through a whole bag when making the wreath!)
scissors
lots of patience!!!

Now you didn’t think I was going to leave you with that did you???  No way not me!  How about a box filled with candy to put them on?  Now this box I made using my Martha Stewart score board, but that is a tutorial for another day!!!  Wanna see the finished project?

Forever Night Challenge #10 and Bombshell Tutorial

Hello Lovelies, I hope this Friday finds you all doing well!  I am finally getting over the yucky that was going around in my house so I am doing much better!  First I would like to say I am sorry I flaked last friday on Challenge #9, I hope you all had fun seeing what the other DT members created! Secondly let me say that I had loads and loads of fun with this challenge!

Now if you know anything about me at all you know that I am a Harry Potter FREAK!!!!  well this week our challenge is:  Wicked World of Hogwarts!!!  We got to work with the Har Repotter line from Bugaboo Stamps  I specifically got to work with “the sidekick” (Ron)!  You all know he is my favorite!  Anyway, this little image reminded me of when we first met Ron on the train when he was trying to work the spell that Fred and George had told him would work on his pet rat!  So that is where I went with this, of course the daughter told me I had to make him a true ginger so I tried my hardest using copics and colored pencils to get that right shade of red!  I hope it shows in the picture!
